My problem with it is that Would You Like to Hear How They Died? is a trope in its own right, and one currently without a picture. The image makes much more sense there.
Now that I know that trope exists, I'd support putting the pic on that page instead of Evil Gloating.
Bump...anyone else support ?
I do.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.I do as well, although that leaves the issue of what to use for this page.
Moon◊This is true, but we need to have pics fit the trope they're most appropriate for, and the pic does fit that trope better, so I added it to that page with a tag referencing this one.
Perhaps panel four of this comic page.
Hmm... I'm not entirely clear on whether the trope includes cases in which the character is gloating to themselves or an ally, rather than taunting a victim or hero; my intuition is that it should, but the description seems to not include such. If, however, it does, then there's also panel four of this page.
Otherwise, perhaps the first four panels of this comic, or some arrangement from this one.
My Games & WritingWhy not make the image multi-panel with the second panel being CATS' Evil Laugh? ("Ha ha ha ha"). Just to make it more clear. (it helps the laugh comes RIGHT AFTER THE LINE IN THE CURRENT IMAGE)
Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
Main problem I see with Willbyr's is that only the text makes it clear that the hat guy is a villain. He's hardly sinister-looking in appearance, especially compared to the black-clothed person with a sword dipped in gore.
Also, this trope usually happens when the villain is winning. The plumber guy doesn't look like he's winning or triumphant, especially when he's facing down a freaking badass sword user.
I actually agree with liveangel, however; "Would you like to hear how he died?" is often something a villain says to taunt a hero, which fits the image having the role of the hero as the aggressor.
