I do, this is fucking dumb. I half expect Joyce to have a PTSD induced panic attack the moment she tastes even a drop, and this isn't really "helping" Dorothy, it's just reinforcing the delusion that she has to be responsible for Joyce.
I think Joyce is using herself as bait to get Dorothy to fess up about whats bothering her, by using the one thing she can't resist: joyce related innocence/ignorance.
I trust Joyce to know what her own boundaries are.
I guess but I don't think getting drunk will help Dorothy that much, even if I trust Joyce to know what her limits are (I don't trust her to be able to fix Dorothy's problem).

Oh yeah alcohol is illegal in the US for young adults. This re-contexulize the previous strips.
I was kind of half remembering I never drank in college despite the age being 19 where I am.
Hollywood movies would have me believe people drink more in US universities where it's illegal than here where it's legal.
I think there's some truth to that. Because it's forbidden, people feel compelled to do it. And because it has to be (nominally in some cases) hidden, it can be even more dangerous because people will drink solitarily and too much, or they won't get help when they drink too much because people are afraid of legal trouble.

Oh dear it is. Worst way to get over a crush (I mean the awful conservativism/bigotry might also be preformative but it's still bad if it is.) Preformative faith is a different issue.
