A lot of first dates can be weird and boring, honestly. It's hard to find out what you have in common with someone and then spark something over just one night, which is why (imo) it makes more sense to know someone for a while before seeing if a relationship could be in the cards.

Eyeh, although at least from the male side, it opens you up to accusations of being a Dogged Nice Guy who isn't actually interested in friendship, just in the relationship.

I sorta see that now that you point it out, but I'm also not sure. I think the point of that arc was a sendup to Shortpacked!, where Robin latches onto her lesbian and gets into wacky shenanigans, only it's DOA and that shit would be super creepy in real life.
Robin's going to be redeemed at some point, but I don't think she and Leslie will ever get together with how boundary breaking Robin's actions were.
