Alright than, so it's open to interpretation for a fairly good reason (and I will try not the concern myself that means a country's existence in this canon is also open to interpretation).

Btw, assuming the two Alex are one and the same, do you guys think the physical changes are drastic to the point of being unbelievable? I've seem a lot of people mentioning it in the comments, but for me, comparing the two was why I started thinking they were the same person, even before reading about real life Alex.

The hair is the same after a cut and the facial structure seemed close enough to me. She is thinner, but people lose weight and she is wearing a coat. People mention it is believable she would have recover from surgery too quickly, but I don't see why she would have to have had any. I don't know, even assuming she looked exactly like this a week ago in story, I don't think the makeover is actually that believable.

You'd be amazed at what a haircut, shave, new clothes and makeup can do. Even if Alex isn't on hormones, this is pretty believable to me. She looks more masculine than Carla still, so it doesn't look like she fully transitioned over night.

The main thing is she has a different chin and a different nose.

I don't find her nose to be that different, to be honest. It is still quite round, even if a bit longer. And Willis style changes overtime. Norvile, for example, is present both here and in this older strip, and his face seems much longer now than then. So, although new!Alex face is different than before, it is not so different to be unbelievable, at last for me, when you take account the constant art changes and the fact old!Alex last appeared years ago.

Eh. I'm fine with seeing them as the same character, but there's art evolution and then there's outright swapping parts.

Willis actually pointed out in the comments that people shouldn't put too much stock in things like "the nose looks different" because his art is sometimes inconsistent.

I also don't see that as a reason to not see it as the same Alex, I'm just pointing out what the main art point would be, as opposed to skin hair or wardrobe change.

Yeah nose can be put down as art evolution, also shaving, different hairstyle/hair cut and since it's shorter that's easier to see than if it was longer, different clothes, the only real question is how she suddenly got acne treatment, which I guess could also be art evolution.

Well, she did explicitly said she had a better skin care regiment than old!Alex. Anyway, I would chalk that one up to make up.

...I can't believe I forgot make-up was a thing that exists (I blame the fact I only wear nail polish and eye shadow, so the fact she could be wearing bb creme or foundation genuinely didn't occur to me).

Yeah I can put all the differences between facial structure on makeup emphasising/deemphasising elements plus artstyle drift between their rare appearances.

Although I'd like a character having a makeover without revealing themselves as freshly decloseting trans, "its the same Alex" is headcanon up.

If they're freshers strait out if highschool, there's little way they could be 20.

I suppose my definition of "teenager" stops at 18. Probably not strictly accurate...
