Anyway, yea. People see what they want to then blame the author. That is why I foresee that even if Beck turn out to be still as fundamentalist as ever, and she not being as uptight as Joyce is just how she is, people will still think this is yet another story line made to upset Christians.

That one teacher/RD person who has a hijab. At least I assume she's muslim.

When I archive binged, I was bothered by how non-generic she was as a background character. Then that shifted into "so we should see more of her". Then she stopped appearing.

Ah, yes, I remember now. This one, right? Her name is Asma. She doesn't seem to be neither a teacher nor a RD person. She is more like a... doorman? That is not quite the word, I think, but she seems to be the woman in the reception desk. She greets people and receive packages.

Sometimes it seems like she has more authority than desk staff.

Does it? She appears in 5 strips. 4 of which she is in the desk, of two she is delivering packages. The exception is when she escorted Blaine out college, but she wasn't doing so out of her own authority, but out of Ruth's.

We have two Jews, actually. Ethan and Joe.

I'm not seeing anything unusual about Christians being a majority - that's just how it is demographically.

In my Intro to CS for non-majors class, they had us learn HTML and my reaction was "ugh, I'm here to learn how pieces of metal can count, not to review stuff I taught myself in middle school." Then we moved on to Javascript, which I was not only unfamiliar with, but which I realized was being used to teach programming logic, so I decided it was worthwhile.

I hope they at least teach standards-compliant HTML 5 or XHTML that passes W 3 C validation, rather than IE 6-grade horrors.
