Yurika for her part picked up her textbook from her bag and started picking up on where she had left it last class.

Momoko decided that, after two unsuccessful trolling attempts, she had to try something drastic. Of course, it meant ignoring the start of class. It was worth it, though! She turned to face the nearby desk of the girl known as Yurika and stared intently, once again putting on a completely neutral expression.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

"In English, the word is [pronunciation.] Say it along with me: [pronunciation]."

Submerged as she was in her text book it took Yurika a little while to notice that a certain classmate was staring eerily at her. And she didn't stop when she stared back with an annoyed expression on her face.

"What do you want?" Yurika finally asked with clear irritation in her voice.

Momoko did not respond for several moments, instead she elected to take the statue and place it, facing towards herself, on Yurika's desk. The stared intently at Yurika after doing so, making no effort to explain her actions. Without turning back to the teacher, she mustered her worst possible english. She wasn't actually that bad at the language, she was average at it really. It was completely intentional.

Weirdo

That Momoko never made any sort of sense. Yurika took the statue and placed it on the floor, besides her seat.

Not discouraged, Momoko bent down and picked the statue up again, placing it on Yurika's desk once more. This time, she turned it to face the other girl. Good, she was getting confused. She's just escalate it until Yurika wouldn't be able to take the oddness anymore.

Yurika's also pretty cute, and she gets cuter when she's confused and ticked off.

Sadako took her textbook out of her backpack and started following along with the lesson. She was doing very well with pronunciation, but grammar posed a bit of a problem. She resolved to ask Faulkner-sensei for some extra help after class.

"I know you can do better than that, Hanabusa... Put your toy away and... Wait."

She stalked over, and, with a smile, snatched up the dragon and took it back to her desk.

"I had forgotten Momoko gave it to me. It is now my toy to put away!"

With the most sheepish-looking grin she could fake, she slid the dragon into a drawer of her desk, before stepping back out in front of the class.

["Try it again, Momoko. Pronunciation is important."]

Momoko watched, as her statue was taken away. That... that wasn't good. She had plans for that statue! For that, she was going to show no mercy. Turning to face Faulkner-sensei, her expression remaining neutral, she spoke.

Her tone was utterly deadpan...

"[Purasento,]" she said.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

Yuki closes her book, walks over to her book bag and retrieves it. She walks back, and takes out another book. She sits down and begins to read.

What the hell is up with this... Oh, good one Faulkner! Finally you do something useful for me Yurika thought as she saw Faulkner-sensei taking away the dragon from her desk. Just for that she decided to do her best with the little exercise.

["But Kokomo... I didn't know I was supposed to get you a present..."]

The teacher grinned wickedly.

["I'm afraid my poor gaijin mind is utterly baffled by the complexities of your foreign culture. Explain it to me. In English."]

She turned to Yurika... And almost seemed happy.

"Very good, Yurika! Almost perfect, truly! Just slightly off on last sound... It is not [-shon], but [-shun]. However... I suppose that is less pronunciation error and more... Accent. In short... You may be a better student to me, ojou-chan... If only you chose to."

"[Pro... Pronoun ... see ... Asian.]" Mika tried her best to repeat what English-sensei said. Ah yes, that American television watching definitely did help out.

She smiled.

"Mika-chan tries so hard... Not as close as ojou-chan, sadly, but very close. [pronunciation. Try it again, please?"]

This wasn't good. Momoko... wasn't that good at english. She was alright, but she didn't recognize some of the words Faulkner-sensei had said. Or rather, a lot of the words Faulkner-sensei had said. But there had to be a way to get past this, she couldn't just give up.

"... I'm afraid that I can't answer your question, due to the complex syntax that you utilized, which I am wholly unfamiliar with," Momoko spoke as quickly as possible, in an attempt to make what she had said as hard to understand for the American teacher as she could.

Both Rina and Hina pulled their textbooks out when the class had finally started. In unison, they said, "[Pernuionshiun]"

They glanced at each other out of the corner of their eyes, and smiled. They really couldn't stay mad at each other for too long. Hina leaned over to Rina's desk. "I bet I can figure it out sooner than you."

Rina frowned, "We aren't competing."

"We are now." Hina raised her hand, "Faulkner-sensei, could you say it again? I'm not sure if I got it. Is it [pernushiun]?"

Rina couldn't resist and so piped up, "Or is it [pernushieshun]? Which of us is closer?"

Yurika for her part merely acted stubborn, averting her gaze from the teacher and crossing her arms she merely said "That I want to learn good English doesn't mean that I want to be a good student to you..."

Momoko nodded, and reached into her bag lying beside her chair. She took out one of her notebooks, and held it up in front of her. Faulkner-sensei had played right into her hands. She couldn't help but smile, if this worked just about everyone would be confused. She flipped the notebook open to display a simple drawing of a fish, a dotted oval with a triangle on one end.

"[Feishu]," she said.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

["Pronunciation,"] Faulkner-sensei obligingly repeated. "Rina-chan is closer than Hina-chan..."

She ran a hand gently through Mika's pink hair.

"And Mika-chan is much closer this time."

She turned to Yurika.

"Will you not grant that the two are connected?"

She picked up her yardstick, swatting Momoko's notbook from her hands.

"This is not an art class, Momoko. And if it had been, you would flunk. Since you are so keen on the water, perhaps you would like to hold a couple buckets of it in the hall?"

["Pronunshiation"] Sadako repeated after the teacher, with just a slight Japanese accent showing through.

Faulkner stared puzzledly at the Lithuanian.

"...I am still baffled by hearing that accent from your mouth. [See,] not [shee]. But very close."
