Kansai City.

An slightly eccentric and metropolitan population center, filled with a little bit of just about anything you might desire. On the center of this city's stage there is an immensely popular and cut-throat idol business, where young girls with just the right amount of talent and charisma get to shine ever brighter than the night stars.

Now while this is our stage, that is not the content of our play.

Rather, look over at the young (and not so young...) maidens who dwell in this modern city that is almost taken out of fantasy.

Watch these flower blossom, wither and then being reborn again as their hearts clash against one another!

The first scene of our play is centered in the prestigious Hoshizaki Academy... whose luxurious halls of learning have been for many long years the stages upon which the academic life of the most successful ladies of Kansai and indeed, the whole of Japan.

Arriving by the way of a black car driven by a chauffeur, the sole princess of the Sonohara Conglomerate and one of the city's most popular idols, Sonohara Yurika made her arrival for another dull day of school.

Stepping outside with as much grace as she could command, the young lady carried by herself her book bag on this day. The last girl to have been entrusted such a task had made quite a bad emotional outburst, after the which their friendship was promptly terminated.

Yurika would have felt quite bad had the girl's declaration not made her so incredibly angry.

Still, that was not a problem. Soon enough she would find a new friend that would be kind enough to carry her bag.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

Yuki slouched as she walked to school, her book bag over her left shoulder, her left hand in her sweatshirt pocket, and a book in her right. She walked to class reading. Upon entering the classroom, she walked to the back and claimed a seat in the back right corner.

In the classroom, Mika looked at her watch. After factoring the amount of time she had left before school starts, Mika placed her arms on top of her desk and placed her head on top of them, with her eyes closed.

The tap of her yardstick on the floor marking her steps, Miss Lilly Faulkner paced back and forth in her classroom, waiting for the rest of her class to file in.

She hadn't had the best night of sleep, and relying mostly on caffeine and willpower to keep her standing until she'd finished waking up. She'd have loved to be asleep at her desk, but she couldn't. She was a teacher. An educator. She was a grown woman, damn it, one with responsibilities to see to, and appearances to keep up. She had to maintain authority, to command respect. These girls would never be able to learn from her if she couldn't get them to listen, could she?

She missed a step as her tired eyes closed for just a second, but managed to catch herself before she fell. Grumbling a few reprimands to herself in her native English, she turned to face the blackboard, looking for anything she might have forgotten to erase the day before.

Ikeda Hina walked briskly towards the academy, her sister Rina, right behind her.

“Why are you rushing? We aren’t even late?” Hina asks as she matches her pace. Hina frowned briefly, before hooking her arm around her sister’s.

“Ah, but I could’ve been if I didn’t have to wait for you, dear sister. I don’t know how you can stand being so late.” In reality, Rina was ready for school only a minute or two after Hina. Not that Hina ever acknowledged that.

The two continued on their walk, arriving at the school with plenty of time to spare. As they walked up the stairs, they turned in unison when they heard a car pull up. Out of the sleek black car, came Sonohara Yurika, graceful as always.

“Oh, Sonohara-senpai is so pretty,” Rina whispered.

Hina let go of her sister’s arm to adjust her hair, trying not to let her displeasure show. “She’s alright, I suppose,” she said lightly. “Look, she’s carrying her own bag. Must’ve lost her latest servant.”

“How terrible! She looks like she needs help,” Rina trotted back down the stairs towards Sonohara. She gave a brief backwards glance back to her sister. “See you in homeroom!”

“No, wait!” Hina began to call, before turning on her heel to head in to the school. Fine, let Rina make a fool of herself. She’ll run back for my help before class starts, for sure.

Hina walked into the classroom. Some students were already there, milling around, chatting. She briefly greeted them, before going to her usual seat. She ignored Rina’s empty desk, and dropped her bag on her own. The sound was louder than she intended. It was then she noticed Mika sitting in the desk next to her, apparently asleep.

I hope I didn’t wake her, she thought.

Rina walked up to Sonohara with a slight bounce in her step. “Good morning, Sonohara-senpai! How are you today?”

Satisfied that her blackboard was clear, Ms Faulkner turned to the source of the noise.

"...You are missing someone, Ikeda-chan?"

Inwardly, she grimaced. Her grasp on the Japanese language was... imperfect. She wished she could just use English all the time... But life in her Japanese exile was never so simple.

Still, she was worried that she sounded like a moron.

She allowed herself to lapse back into her native tongue, sighing.

["Where's your sister, miss Ikeda? Seeing you two separate is like seeing a hermit crab without its shell."]

“Ah, I’m sorry, Sensei,” Hina stood back up instantly, as she tried to decipher her teacher’s, quite frankly, awkward Japanese. She couldn’t understand what her teacher had said in English but thought she was still referring to Rina.

“My sister… should be here shortly. Would you like me to get her?”

"No need... Just an odd sight."

She paused, her ears perking up as she heard Mika mumbling in her sleep.

With a smile, she positioned herself in front of Mika's desk, raising her yardstick.

"Yet to attack, Mika-chan... Attack would be THIS!"

With that, she brought her yardstick down on the sleeping girl's desk with a loud THWACK, careful not to actually hit her.

Yuki finishes her book, and calmly replaces it with a nearly identical one from her bag, and she begins to read it.

Though the rest of her body didn't react, her eyes sure did. Mika saw her teacher above the desk with a ruler next to her head. "Um..." Multiple eyes seem to look their way now.

"Sorry, English-sensei," Mika smiled sheepishly.

["Would you like some of my coffee, Mika?"] she offered. ["It might help you wake up enough to remember my name."]

She wasn't quite sure if Mika would be able to grasp the English being thrown at her after being roused from her nap, but it wouldn't hurt to engage the girl's brain a little to help her wake up. Hers was something of a small class, so she could afford to spare time for individual students... Even if some of them were apparently to engrossed in their reading to extend her the same courtesy.

With a deft flick of her wrist, her yardstick knocked the book from Yuki's hands and sent it flying across the room.

"Want to talk to you, Yuki-chan... But language barrier is problem. Maybe you stop reading, learn some English? We could be making friends..."

Yuki calmly produces a third book, also nearly identical to the last two, from her bag and begins reading it.

"Oh, oh. I got this... Uh... Umm... [Coffee... maybe...], [Mika doesn't say ... other name because ... you get mad ... when I do]!" She certainly felt accomplished afterwards, "Did you drink your coffee yet?"

Mika also thought of Yuki's magic trick as rather neat!

Sonohara Yurika stopped her steps to give a brief glance at the girl calling to her. At this stage few unrelated people actually had the audacity to simply approach the Sonohara Conglomerate Princess. Even though she looked enthusiastic she didn't seem like the usual crazy fan type of girl... at least not at first glance.

"Good morning to you" Some other day, Yurika would have simply greeted her and walked away as quickly as politely posible... but though she would never admit it or even realize it she was feeling a little lonely after the fall out with her last companion.

The girl was certainly not bad to look at... petite, with cute wavy brown hair and a pretty smile. Not bad at all.

"I am quite fine today, thank you. Though I do admit I've had some better mornings"

["Some. You need to work on your pronouns, Mika... And I'm sorry I yelled at you. I've had trouble adapting to life in a foreign country."]

She offered her coffee to Mika.

"You drink some?"

Perhaps as a victory for speaking so well in English, Mika took a sip out of the mug. She was rather happy since she might've had an indirect kiss with English-sensei. "[It OK. Mika has ... hard times ... ass well. San kyu], English-sensei!"

As, Faulkner-sensei said before, she still needs work.

Faulkner couldn't help but giggle. Mika could be so cute sometimes.

["Getting closer, Mika. You're welcome."]

She took another sip of her coffee, smiling. This could be a good day. Maybe if she was really lucky, that spoiled princess bitch wouldn't show up today!

She felt a little guilty for thinking of one of her students that way... But not guilty enough to earn the student in question the benefit of the doubt.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Rina said as she clasped her hands behind her. "I apologize if I'm bothering you in any way, but I saw you without your usual, um, friend and I just wondered if you needed help with anything. Or just some cheering up!"

English-sensei stared into Mika's beautiful green eyes...

Or tried to. Mika wasn't looking at her any more. She'd been sidetracked by Yuki's little trick.

...Did that girl not get the concept of a school?

the veins in her forehead throbbing, Miss Faulkner set her mug down on Mika;s desk, and picked up her yardstick.

"My classroom is no circus! Why are you here, Yuki? You don't want to learn!"

She swatted the book with the tip of her yardstick, sending it into Yuki's face.

"You can start learning, or I can fail you now and you will never be in my classroom again..."

The book slams into Yuki's face, and she recoils slightly with a yelp. The edge of the book slices her on her cheek giving her a paper cut. After a moment, she pulls a fourth book out of her book bag, and begins to read. The blood from the cut is keenly visible on her snow white face.

"Oh, no," Mika lamented. This is going to get worse. She probably would do something, if only she didn't just regain her shyness and not want to interfere in someone else's problem.
