Open ended as in sandboxy or as in multiple paths to the end? because DXHR has some freedom it's pretty much a defined path with a few hubs. You could of course check out Morrowind, the predecessor to Oblivion.

In the quiet of the night, the Neocount of Merentha mused: How long does evolution take, among the damned? As in the story goes where the player takes it. Big choices, multiple endings, etc.
Oh, dude, in that case, check out Alpha Protocol. While it's not an "open-world" RPG, literally every single action you take in that game has consequences. Every single one.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."You also might check out Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines.
It also has a lot of big choices. And it's... sort of a sandbox.
Just be sure to make sure you patch it as much as possible. It's pretty buggy.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Thinking it over, it might be easier to count the rpgs that DON'T include multiple endings nowadays, although sandbox style gameplay throughout the game is still fairly rare.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Fallout 2. While the story isn't as divergent as FNV the gameworld/map is huge and with Killap's restoration mod there's a crap tonne of things to do in it.
Howdy. I just recently finished Fallout New Vegas, and I'm lookin' for another non-linear RPG to fill up my game-stomach. I loved Fallout 3 and, to a lesser extent, Oblivion.
Hearin' good things about Deus Ex Human Revolution, though I think I might wait for the price to drop. Any recommendations?
