I agree that it makes more sense for this trope to have a name that suggests more than just Christmas Easter eggs since it covers all holiday ones. Holiday Mode and Holiday Easter Egg are now redirects, but I would support a rename as well.

Checking some of the wicks, there seems to be a definite bias towards Christmas-y things which isn't justified by the actual trope. It's also on the Christmas Tropes index when it should really be on Holiday Tropes.
I suggest a simple swap with the Holiday Mode redirect.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I'd also suggest a full-scale reorganization. Most other video game tropes have the entries divided up by game genre (RPG, FPS, Roguelike, etc.) whereas this one is just a mish-mash without any apparent order at all.
Absolutely. Swap with the redirect and sort/folderize the examples. I might have time to do the latter later today.

Rhymes with "Protracted."^ Troacctid, thanks, I didn't know about that one. I haven't really been involved with the repair shop before.
Bump. Opinions seem pretty unanimously in favor of a swap so far. Any disagreement?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Second bump. In the absence of objections, I'll probably do the swap tomorrow, since this seems thoroughly non-controversial. Scream now or forever hold your peace! :)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Ok, there's been zero opposition to a swap; this seems about as non-controversial as it's possible to be. I'm going to go ahead.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Fixing wicks (while I wait for a mod to respond to my call to move the discussion), I've discovered a moderate amount of misuse for an apparently missing trope: christmas-themed mode, which covers things like the ability to choose a Santa costume for your character, or to decorate the setting manually in a Christmas-y style, at any time of your choosing. I may send that to YKTTW.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Discussion has been moved. Old name turned into a redirect.
All wicks fixed (including other redirects). Calling for a lock.

Because this is far from based only on Christmas changes, and there is no other name to reference this for someone who is searching for something that isn't a Christmas alteration.
Laconically, the trope is about when a game changes something special when played on certain days - most commonly this is done on Christmas, but we definitely need a title or redirect to reference other events or even the larger concept, mainly for the sake of searchability - looking at it you don't always think it's not specifically about Christmas.
