Definitely needs a "before" pic.
Yes, needs to have a before picture...
I am now known as Flyboy.Current picture of Super Saiyan 3 Goku◊
(There is no hair growth at level 2.)

That would work, although if we could get it from the same angle it would be clearer...
I am now known as Flyboy. That works.
I think there's one during the Majin Buu arc.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?Interesting...maybe an arrow between them so it's more clear that it's the same character?
Problem solved.
That's not how this works. You don't just change an image that's under discussion all on your own.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickBut it works, right?
Yeah that's not how you do it, but I agree — maybe throw an arrow there for clarity and we have a good image.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. No, it doesn't work. There is nothing about that image that says anything about a power up. It's just showing hair growing. It's the exact same random guy, in the exact same clothes, and the exact same pose. He just has longer hair. Doesn't show the trope. That's why we discuss these things and don't just throw bad images up.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOh, it's not Raso's image that got put up? My bad.
Goku works slightly less well, since he's got a combat(ish) gear from the get go. I think. Civilian garments in the "before" can work as a visual aid.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. There needs to be some visual hint of power. Not just hair growth.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick
How about this one, then? It's a bit more visually obvious that there is a "powering up" going on, because you can see that he's preparing an attack.
That just looks like a random group image, and I'm not really seeing the hair grow. Just styled different.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI could see the one in the foreground have hairs that reached at least the waist. Too bad about the second one from the front, not much difference with the one behind except for the colour.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead? There's not enough of a clear transition between the last two in the latest DBZ suggestion.
Hmm lets see Real screen shots of the transformation? Instead of Line-art...
[1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊ [4]◊ [5]◊ [6]◊ [7]◊ [8]◊
The other examples of this the difference might be too extreme though.
[9]◊ [10]◊ [11]◊ [12]◊ [13]◊ [14]◊ [15]◊ [16]◊
And Only Goku to from 2 to 3 is an example of this. normal to 1 is Power Makes Your Hair Change Colors 1 to 2 is just Power Makes Your Hair Spiky (more spiky).
EDIT: wtf my capper went crazy and scrunched some of the image again... grr one sec.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Ok all fixed I hope.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Does anybody know the episode(s) where he does that, I can acquire a copy.
Fight smart, not fair. There, that's the whole trope. Much better.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick
The trope is "power makes your hair grow". There needs to be some sort of indication that his hair was shorter before.
