Tokyo Game Show 2011

Seeing as its about two weeks away I thought I'd start this thread.

TGS has shrunk to near irrelevance. The shrinking profits in Japanese development and the massive hugeness of Gamescom has brought it to the point that it may be shuttered soon.

Well, Arc System Works, Atlus, Namco Bandai, Cyber Connect 2 and Capcom have a lot of big things getting ready for it, at the least. I think Platinum Games is supposed to be there as well, probably to show off more of Anarchy Reigns.

Square Enix is going to show more of Final Fantasy Type-0 and Kingdom Hearts 3D, which has me excited. Does Nintendo have anything planned for TGS?

I'm not sure. Maybe The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword, perhaps.

Rumors are going on that Nintendo plans to announce something big on TGS, though I'm going to take it with a grain of salt.

If it turns out to be the games Operation Rainfall is trying to bring over, I will probably lol.

It's something about the 3DS though if the rumors are to be believed.

Looking through Square Enix's TGS titles...I had no idea they had so many cellphone games in the pipeline.

I'm mostly looking forward to the KH3D news... *hides*

Capcom's Line up this year.

Fuck yeah! Screw the Capcom haters, they have a a lot of sick games this year at TGS.

I personally can't wait to see more about this Persona 4 Fighting game, along with Kingdom Hearts DDD

Nintendo never going to TGS. but there will be conference before TGS

Is Konami doing anything this year? I want to know if that ZOE 3 DS thing they teased is going to be a reality...

It's interesting that Japan is shifting so much and now the west, which used to make crap (what western console games in the 80s and 90s were really good, compared to the number of Japanese console games?), is now starting to make high quality games.

Still, there's still good stuff being made in Japan. They do need to be less conservative though, but then again, you could say that about this whole sequel-crazed industry.

Looking forward to more info on KH 3 D and that FF rhythm game. Especially the latter because that seems like a really interesting idea.

I'm also curious about Nintendo's big announcement. Hopefully it's some awesome game that I can add to the growing list of 3DS games I want to get. Pikmin 3 would also work.

edit: I guess I'll just ignore Capcom this year. I'm still sore about Legends 3 getting canned. Nothing they're making really grabs me anyway.

I never cared for Megaman, So I'm sticking to Dragons Dogma and Asuras Wrath this year, along with Street Fighter X Tekken.

Capcom, Konami, Nintendo, maybe a couple of other studios I'll pay attention to this year at TGS.

And Grasshopper Manufacture and Lollipop Chainsaw if it's there.

Didn't Pikmin 3 already get announced in a panel during E3?

It did but I wouldn't mind seeing some actual gameplay footage. Or a teaser. Or anything!

Just something visual to give me speculation fuel.

Although at the rate it's going, Pikmin 3'll be the next Duke Nukem Forever...that is, if Final Fantasy Versus XIII ever comes out.

A Final Fantasy game becoming vaporware does not compare to a franchise with only two games, the last one coming out in 2004.

There better be something, DAMMNIT.

I personally would hate to see TGS get shuttered, especially considering how the Japanese market still pumps out games that are relevant to my interest. Persona the Ultimate or whatever it's called is something I'm starting to look forward to. I imagine it'd be sort of like Arc's take on the JJBA fighting game by Capcom.

We're finally gonna get some more Layton vs. Ace Attorney info at TGS!
