Tempting Fate, Sid-lass. Oh, so hard.
Varia looks properly confused there. On the bright side, it didn't ruin her pants like I've seen in some other works.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.A vampire tries to sneak in, and Sydney has questions as does Maxima.

And I just now realized, upon reviewing strips, that indeed Sydney was tempting fate by invoking vampire movie sunrises.
The mostly-incredibly-happily asleep bats had me giggling: there's a vamp who hasn't been getting enough shut-eye recently.
And, may have trouble nodding off for a few days thanks to the tanker of What-If? Nightmare Fuel Sid just dumped on her.
Crimson explains herself and Sydney loses a bet.
It explains the confusion a bit.
And Sydney's new power is useful

Ermm... Do you?
Neat little reference to What We Do in the Shadows on the shirt.
Thats a pointed conversation.
"You can reply to this Message!"My immediate impulse is that it was an attempt to either locate the remaining sigils, or to sneak someone in during the "rescue", but I'm sure it might be even more complex than that.

Or it could simply be moving Something Important from a secret hiding-place to this vault, which the enemy knew of and could get to.

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. They didn't turn off the alarms... just the ability to hear them.

"You can reply to this Message!"The kind of mistake that globe-spanning conspiracies are made from.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)In their defense, it's sort of like turning off the wi-fi in a building because it's interfering with the HVAC systems, and not realizing that somewhere along the way, the IT department decided the best way to control the air-conditioning was by sending commands to a hotspot on the network. I mean, you don't expect people to have piggybacked essential functions on what's essentially a convenience.
Of course, with any knowledge of human (mortal?) nature, you should have expected it.
You know, if you make it so that people more or less can't hear them, then you have basically disabled the alarms.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Unless the Alarms also try to kick your ass.
Magic and so.
"You can reply to this Message!"Plus it's possible that there were guards down here who could hear the alarms, but they couldn't call for help and just got killed.
