I think the benchmark around here for reflexive bitching and moaning is the Sinfest thread.
Trump delenda estNew strip. Peggy is on the ball.
= Spindriver =I think the benchmark will always be Girl Genius. I believe I will go to my grave not knowing how the Other is finally defeated. And yes, the slow pacing of a web comic done right does make me want to invent time travel just so I can skip ahead 5 years and buy the graphic novel. But then I probably wouldn't have the software to view it.

In Girl Genius, stuff actually happens.
Gonna head this off by asking you all not to bash other comics in this thread.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)It makes sense that they'd track that. And, as Sydney said, "Foreshadowing."
There's predictive data analysis for you.
And Sydney was trying so hard...
= Spindriver =I imagine that Lucas Never Heard That One Before.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. My sincere apologies, because this and Girl Genius are my two all time favorite web comics. Partly because both writers know the importance of character development and do take their time. Oh, and both know how to draw hot women. In that order.
Yeah, if she intends to transport a bunch of people, she'd need to supply air tanks.
I have a message from another time...Given that she's there, any chance that Dabbler could cast a spell to replenish the air?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.New strip. Two of the characters are very upfront.
= Spindriver =I think that Sydney, for all of her awkwardness, doesn't realize just how good she is at seizing center stage. Even aside from her powers and lack of unattractiveness, she automatically gains the public eye versus Pixel and Gwen who are used to standing on the periphery.
Sydney is being pushed there because she's a proven, bona fide superheroine — and once she's there, her extroversion and lack of a filter kicks in and she grabs some attention. Gwen and Pixel are backroom staff (Gwen's low-key powers haven't been publicly mentioned), and the press have no reason to look at them while there are actual superheroines around.
If Gwen or Pixel had punched a bad guy through the wall in the recent past, they'd be out front with the other three, and attracting plenty of attention — both are more than adequately cute.
= Spindriver =Also, for all that Sydney is good at getting attention, I don't know for sure if it's the kind she wants.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.New strip. Issues kicking in.
= Spindriver =They could probably set up her wristcomm to be an automated dispenser, but a) it's probably one of those drugs where you ought to monitor effects and dosage and adjust it, b) there are times when her ADHD has helped, such as the brawl, and c) against technopath villains or maybe even common hackers, it could make her a liability if someone messes with the dispensing.
Apart from which, when someone suggested upping her dosage, someone else said that the term for that was "crystal meth"...
= Spindriver =...Though it turns out that there is an option of sorts on those lines. And a small hint of mystery.
= Spindriver =Hee... Maxima muppet. While I suspect that that isn't really a usual side effect, I could see medications creating a sense of unreality that would manifest itself in people seeming like artificial puppets, kind of like Capgras syndrome.
Yeah, I'm not real sure that they ought to be doing that...
= Spindriver =Trump delenda est
Hey now. Don't be like that.
I'm still loving the ride, I just agree with Kayeka's point that the pacing is really slow. And thinking on it, I'd say it's at least partially because this comic's essentially running like Inuyasha: it presents itself as this ongoing story, but it operates more as a gag-a-day romp.
