I find the concept of certain female authority figures (ex: police officer) to be major fetish fuel.
Um... not... really? I mean... sometimes the uniform is nice, but not in reality. Fantasy =/= reality. Fantasy lady in authority? Maybe. Real life lady cop, let's say? Mostly just intimidating...

I am now known as Flyboy.Status also has to do with lifestyle; a rich man or woman is clearly able to provide for a prospective partner. It's not as important these days, but is still important. Successful people are attractive partners.
I can see why it might appeal on a rational level, but I wouldn't have said sexy, no.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffThis might work in reverse—I've read that handsome politicians are more likely to be elected. Though I can't see it myself . . .
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulNo, I don't. Mostly I just find it intimidating.
Be not afraid...^^ Doesn't necessarily disprove it. Reliable, experienced politicians perceived to have their feet on the ground are also popular.

“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardMy rephrasing: Certainly, people who are creative and/or can do something really well are attractive, to both genders.

Well... money and power are the modern equivilant to lots of food and alpha-male status. These things appeal to women because they represent a stable enviroment for raising children and giving them a good start in life.
I am a nobody. Nobody is perfect. Therefore, I am perfect.Talent is sexy. But it does depend on the type of talent. (Not a Sailor Moon reference, though it could be.)
I guess I don't automatically associate wealth or status with any particularly admirable or attractive characteristics.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI think people - and especially women - are attracted to high status, but I don't think the factors that contribute to that attraction are reducible to socioeconomic status.
Generally, wealth and position are attractive as ideas, since they reflect success in our society, but ultimately, actual attraction is more a response to behavior. Rich and powerful people tend to act in ways that display their high value, but those behaviours can be just as attractive when replicated by everyday people: a mousy, timid lawyer or a brain surgeon can be outcompeted by a socially skilled sanitation engineer who is assured of being the hottest thing in the room and acts accordingly.
^ So you're saying the PUA community is actually right?
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulIt's not impossible.
“Love is the eternal law whereby the universe was created and is ruled.” — St. BernardNo.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I'm not at all sure that I find confidence attractive. A little is good, yes, otherwise the person won't even talk to you. But excessive confidence is just kind of... I don't know, a little grating.
Perhaps, confident enough to approach you/talk to you, but not so confident that they're convinced you won't say no.
Be not afraid...Nah, I couldn't care less about status or power. Unless you mean power as in physical power, to which I quote 'I love a woman who could kick my ass'.
So what you're saying is that you like confidence, but not arrogance?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterAbout a lot of things, they are.
Confidence minus arrogance plus capability is damn sexy. There's something incredibly charismatic about a person who knows what they're doing, knows they know what they're doing, knows you know they know what they're doing, but isn't rubbing it in your face. ...if you can follow that. I've always followed that charisma paves the way to power, so in that way power is sexy too.
Status? ...nah. Never been a fan of status, not the visible kind anyways where people pay attention to you just waiting for you to slip and fall.
i. hear. a. sound.Well, I don't have a chance with Bur.
I also certainly hope most women don't use your standards, Bur, because I'd be shit out of luck.

i. hear. a. sound.Wouldn't have inordinately high standards make finding a date harder, though? I mean, there's nothing wrong with standards, but at a certain point they become unrealistic...

I remember hearing something a lot of women go for guys in power because of the appeal and the kinks that go with it.So,I wonder do any of find a person in power sexy because of his/her status. This can also include people in power who are good looking as well.
