An mmo action game using a top-of-the-line Crysis engine?
The lag will be legendary even in Hell.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. As usual, I can't access Strategy Informer's website.
I'm curious how this game will handle respawning.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulWould be interesting if you could come back in the normal way but have your corpse convert into a zombie when you revive.
@Karkadinn: not necessarily. Most of the extra work the engine requires will be on the client side; a fancier graphics engine doesn't necessarily mean any more data has to go over the wire.
A brighter future for a darker age. Also, it'll be optimized for the 360. You can get a lot of neat effects scaling back rez for a console.
Jonah FalconYeah, I actually didn't think about the differences between console style and PC style mmo game development. That is going to be a pretty huge factor that will probably help keep performance a lot more reasonable than one would otherwise expect. Right now, as far as PC mmorpgs go, even World Of Warcraft doesn't have the budget to fund servers that can handle major population hubs without serious performance problems.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. This won't be a true MMO, tho. This will be a persistent open world game.
Jonah FalconIt's now State of Decay, and will be released for PC too.
The game is basically Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare in modern times.
Jonah Falcon...when I first saw this footage I was intrigued. The minute I realized zombies were involved, I lost all interest.
Just comes to show how utterly sick of zombies I am.

Announcement back in April, and they just released a little tech demo.
