I still think Calvin and Hobbes is better. Not only does it show someone not doing research, it shows an entire class knows these facts off the top of their heads.
Fight smart, not fair.I agree, but...
We can still use it on Did Not Do The Research, especially since in that strip he actually didn't do any research at all.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I prefer the Calvin And Hobbes one because it's a lot more explicit about what a Critical Research Failure is supposed to be, highlighting what makes it different from Did Not Do The Research. My hope is that it would help lessen misuse slightly, maybe. Also, it's an in-universe example, which is generally a plus.*

Rhymes with "Protracted."Um, if the current picture is not actually an example, should it even be on the crowner?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. Also, how can we get the math glitch fixed?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayNot sure, but we can tell they're tied right now.
DQZ: I think the justification is that the most common trivia to know about the history of the Olympics is about that one instant of a black dude out performing Nazis.
I personally don't feel that "where it was hosted" is important to that story, nor do I feel that the story is important to casual knowledge of either the Olympics themselves or Nazis themselves.
Fight smart, not fair. It's still the difference between someone was too careless to back up a claim, and someone was too lazy to do any sort of research.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I prefer to think of it as the difference between someone too careless to back up a claim and someone too lazy to actually obtain even trivial knowledge of the subject. These are the first words on The Other Wiki article on bats:
And mammals is potholed.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Bump, Calvin has been steadily creeping up in votes.
It's got better ratio and more higher count.
Fight smart, not fair.I'm for the C&H one. That bats aren't bugs is a lot more obvious than that Nazi Germany hosted the olympics.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartAlso, the olympics one has 5 more plus votes than minus votes, yet it has a +6 score overall. Why is that?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartMaybe the server went ... batty?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Now it has 7 more plus votes than minus votes and a +8 score overall.
This kind of bug needs to be fixed if we are to expect crowners to be reliable.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartDid you mean "this kind of bat needs to be fixed"?
Get a slant at this glossary of Pulp Detective terms. It rates. Pipe that?Bugs are not bats!
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Yep, it's a tie right now...although, it has to be said, if you're only paying attention to the number and not the whole display, it's on you if you don't catch the discrepancy. This isn't the first crowner that's been buggy like that, people should be paying attention in general.
This is still basically a dead heat...the current pic's ahead by one but the C&H pic has a better ratio.
The current pic is now behind by one (check the math, the green numbers shown are glitched) and behind in ratio.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyI'd prefer a wider margin for either before making a call on this one.

Nominations for replacement images:
Bump for votes; right now, the true tally is +6 to +2 for the current pic.
