My hate of Mikono is simple. I just find her personality grating and nauseating.

The constant whining about how useless she is even after she found out she does have an element power (and a damned useful one at that), especially.

It's the pineapples, I tell you (in this episode it was freaking pineapple pizza)!

Kind of nice how the production staff seems to have FINALLY remembered that Neo Daeva has two sets of vector machines, and we see the other one put to good use again. Too bad the mode chosen for it was yet again the dinky Gepard, but at least it gained new abilities c/o Jin.

And Haruhi, Mykage was such a bastard during this episode. True love? Nope, sorry Jin, can't have that!

Still. This episode is a big bummer.

Which is why we have Zessica.

Now that you mention it... I did wonder why they didn't have two Aquarions active.

WORST EPISODE SO FAR. BEST EPISODE SO FAR. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKK YOOOOOUUUUUUUUU KAWAMORI. YOU WANTED TO MANIPULATE OUR EMOTIONS AND YOU FUCKING SUCCEEDED, A MASTERSTROKE OF PATHOS YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD.

I knew Jin was a dead man walking since we learned that he was the last son of Altair, and his counterpart in Genesis didn't survive either. But I thought, maybe because of Yunoha, HOPE AGAINST HOPE, that he would make it.

On a more serious note, this probably means Mikage's going to manipulate Izumo into thinking it's Neo Deava's fault. But nothing would make me happier than for Izumo to find out the truth, defy all logic, AND RIP OUT MIKAGE'S HEART AND SHOVE IT DOWN HIS THROAT TO WIPE THAT GODDAMN SMIRK OFF HIS FACE.

NOW DON'T TAKE THE ALLCAPS TOO SERIOUSLY. I'M MAD ONLY BECAUSE I'M SUPPOSED TO BE MAD. I'M CRYING ON THE INSIDE.

Given that he was added to the ED, I suspect they're just faking us out with this.

I don't know. His funeral is in the preview for the next episode.

On a different note, at least this episode explained Kagura's weirdness. He is Bizarro, which syncs up with his power to reverse things. So hate -> love, "you smell like shit" -> "you smell wonderful," "I want to crush you" -> "I want to hold you." Just how much of this is Mykage's fault is up in the air.

Fuck, wait I just realized something.

Also, this episode was fucking disturbing. Kagura just looked so... Happy when he was carrying Mikono around, and the thing is, it wasn't the usual psycho-happy, it was normal happiness over something really creepy. Which just makes it worse.

at least that episode gave me a new target for my hatred. Mikono is off the hook. I just want to see Mykage crucified and burned

He's sort of getting on my nerves because he's kind of… simplifying the morality. We're rapidly reaching the point where he's the only bad person around.

Mykage deserves all the hate for being so fabulously evil, but aside from that this episode confirms that he's somebody that Zen knows from at least 2 reincarnation cycles ago. That said he doesn't seem to be the most obvious one from the last season: Touma, who was sealed with Apollo and Sirius in Solar Aquarion. So who is he? If he's someone from Atlandia, then it's someone we've never seen before.

If it weren't for the fact that Toma never really engaged in the kind of petty dickery that's Mykage's MO, I'd say that Zen's comment about him 'sticking to his old form' cliched that deal. But given that… yeah, he's probably someone new.

yeah. Touma was more of a jealous and angry lover.

Mykage just seems to enjoy breaking people with mental anguish and heartrending sadness for pure giggles.

We're rapidly hitting the point, though, where the writers can't make too many changes to what's been presented so far without it coming off as retarded, especially if they haven't signaled it loud and clear by now.

In that category of 'stuff that shouldn't change without a very, very good explanation', I'd put 'Mikage = Touma', 'Zen=Gen', and, even though I don't really like it, 'Amata!Mikono as Official Couple'.

On that note, the ending suggests that Jin isn't the only one to bite it this episode; I thought I saw some of the minor characters in a bad way during the funeral preview as well.

I actually suspect that funeral we're getting next ep for some folks killed in Kagura's rampage*

, not Jin, who I believe is about as dead as Shraede was that one time.

At least twenty other students were confirmed missing, so if we deduct Andy and Mix from that number, then that's at least eighteen other students dead. Whether some of the 'mob' vector pilots/elements are included in that number remains to be seen though.

And yeah, the sheet amount of dickery that Mykage has shown so far points to him being someone new, instead of a Shadow Angel from Sousei.

If Jin isn't dead, though, it calls the show's dramatic credibility into question. We've already had our chain pulled once with Shrade; If Jin makes it out okay, nobody will believe it the next time one of the primary cast is placed in serious danger.

I suspect that he's dead, but I don't have terribly much invested in his character either way: I'm not particularly fond of either Jin or Yunoha.
