Or we could move them to Just for Fun? I really don't want to delete these, seeing as they haven't started any flame wars (ironically).

If we're going to keep the examples, they need cleaning. A lot of them are specific and one-sided, such as this one from the politics section (Yeah, I know, bucket of sunshine and all that).

* On the same note, it's often declared that you can't call anything other than the Jewish Holocaust a holocaust, even if it fits the definition and there is a distinction of capitalization. This goes for anything that may have been called such even before World War II. Saying something is remotely near the horror of the Jewish Holocaust will also have others jump on you and call you hateful names. You'll never live it down.

Whether you agree with that person or his/her opponents, the writing comes off as whiny and flaming.

Just out of curiosity, when is the front page of this wiki...the one that mentions how breezy and informal and fun we all are... going to be rewritten to reflect the new, widespread "Spaß ist verboten" attitude?

This is a fun page. It detracts nothing from the wiki. Leave it be.

Being in a Japanese-produced work is not enough of a difference to warrant its own trope.

Thank you for bumping this, as it does need resolution.

That said: the claim that there is anything "fun" about this page is, in a word, subjective. Most other pages whining about Fan Dumb and internet drama have had something done about it, whether it be cutting the examples, shoving it on the Darth Wiki (which I would oppose), whatever. This one should get the same treatment. I would oppose it being placed on Just for Fun as that's really not what it's for, but my main priority is simply to have something - anything - done about it. There's probably several thousand places on the internet for people to complain about morons or those perceived as such. We don't need to be one of them.

Please don't red herring, Worldmaker. Light and breezy, and Informal does not mean "anything goes".

But i don't see this as anything goes..personally. And i really don't see it being about Fan Dumb per se'. just issues that causes flame wars because someone was ignorant to the polarization and brought it up to their (and the message board's) detriment..

I don't think you can argue that it's not internet drama, though. And I would agree that it's not Fan Dumb, but only because it can be caused by other things that are totally unrelated to fandoms (politics, anyone?), to say nothing of the fact that Fan Dumb was originally supposed to mean something more specific then "fans being dumb" anyway. I don't see how any of that is really a counter-argument to my point.

Against cutting the examples. They haven't caused anything to happen, and if there's natter, just clean it.
