Venezuela and the Chavez Legacy

Weird to hear common sense from you but yeah. That's what makes me angry, that Venezuelans expect outsiders, all the more bureaucrats to solve all their problems.

So congressman Freddy Guevara was put in jail.

Edit: He was released again I think.

He was retained, but not arrested.

Also, PDVSA got sanctioned this time, real-deal sanctions that affect the economy. I have a bad feeling about it.

I've been feeling like shit recently, more than usual.

It's the news of the day, but here I guess.

Well I don't know, I do think that as a society we are a complete fucking mess. Like literally there's nothing left about us to save all we have left is revenge as a society and the hope we can start again which isn't as hard as most people would like to think. At least as a Venezuelan I do like the idea of being part of this epic fight of getting back freedom and I also enjoy the attention people gives us for our bravery.

Personally I have a lot of reasons to have patriotic feelings in a completely childish way because of my father and I hate how elitistic outsiders can be taking into account we helped when Latin América was sunk in poverty and Caudillisms. Although ironically this tribal, patriotic feeling of mine has turned me into a loner with my fellow Venezuelans.

27 Venezuelans were wounded in a bus accident in Ecuador. Man, destiny seems to be against us.

About people feeling down, well, people shouldn't be exposed to half the things we are exposed to on a daily basis. Pretending everything will turn out ok only makes things worse. When people are normalized to evil they become bitter and cynical from my own experience. It's better to leave them alone.

Personally, although I'm still a little worried about the military since like I said, we need their help. I'm actually optimistic about things since the opposition is playing It's role. What I'm worried about is the events happening on the outside. Politicians conspiring and making dangereous moves. I've been having a lot bad dreams recently so combined with all the bad omens I have a feeling of dread about the future.

When things look grim and it's hard to feel hopeful, I try to remember that at least Chávez is dead.

That dosent confort me since he pretty much got away with EVERYTHING, he beat the oposition over and over and make them is bitches, he create this system and manage to got as hero with is corpse in pantheon.

if you want to put chavez as villian, he totally got away with everything because WE left him.

The thing that saved the galactic corpse's image was the fact that he died. It would have been better other wise. The quality of life of Venezuelans got worse long before the oil prices went down. There was scarcity, inflation and insecurity. That's why both Chavists and oppositors liked Leopoldo's speech because he talked about that clearly. Chavez was a lot more charismatic than Maduro but I'm sure the PSUV's image would have been ruined either way.

The worst part is that once globalization enters the country the Venezuelan left will surely take advantage of Chavez the same way the Chilean left takes advantage of Allende. Jesus, at least I now know how to destroy this damn satanic system.

Unless in the future where the Venezuelans will remove everything he did in his years and ensure he goes down as a pariah whose rethroic nearly destroyed the Venezuelan spirit, ensuring such tragedy ever happens ever again.

He hasn't totally got away with it, because in the future, he will soon that he will spent the rest of his afterlife knowing that no one will ever use his ideology again and will shun him and his cohorts as well.

I'm sure he will get away with it. The Venezuelan left will just blame everything on Maduro and glorify the galactic. Before you say "No vale yo no creo" the Chilean left already did the same with Allende.

Was Allende going to be a dictator as well?

Not really, though his government was in a bad state and the conflict with opposition forces, the wealthy elite, and the military was mounting by the time of the coup.

The left will try to glorify mortadelo. But don't worry about it, once I reach power I will make sure to give Chavez the fame he truly deserves.

My government would be close to centrism, combined with political pragmatism, Authoritarian with heavy Nationalistic ideals.

You sound insane.

The only difference between heroes and madmen is whether they succeed or fail.

Not really insane, it's just that nationalism just seems like the perfect solution after what Venezuela has been through. But combining it with authoritarianism is just a recipe for disaster and will just leave a different segment of the population unhappy.
