Actually on that note, people keep saying "Well I prefer the US over China" or whatnot, so far China has paid Canada far higher prices for its goods, shovelled money into investments in this country's top industries by the billions and has fully respected all trade/political deals and stayed the hell out of the Quebec question. Compare that to the USA, I'm not sure what the fear is. There's over 3000 recorded breaches of national sovereignty by American agents each year onto Canadian soil and I'm supposed to fear Chinese spies.

In our defense, you have to remember, if China had a (not-shitty) navy and didn't have a thousand or so American nukes pointed at it, it would probably steamroll the Western Hemisphere... or at least, the parts it couldn't just outright buy. And since when did anyone in the US support Quebec? As far as I know, I (and all my friends, teachers, my parents, and all their friends) think Quebec is deluded and support Canadian unity...

Unless your pro-Quebec sovereignty. In which case, oops...

Well it's more that China knows about Quebec but refuses to comment about it whereas American politicians (politicians!) can barely find it on a map let alone comment on the situation. The thing is, if China became a super power, Canada doesn't really need to care that much.

They don't just need a non-shitty navy and money for heavy-lift, they need an insanely amazing and overbloated navy and heavy lift capacity with bajillion reserves in stock to ever touch Canada. America can just roll tanks north if there was ever a president idiotic enough to ruin the relationship between the two nations.

As for the breaches, the recorded ones aren't CIA (since those would be unrecorded breaches... unless CIA spies suck), they're usually FBI.

Plus what is most annoying is the United States constantly proclaiming they protect Canada (and thus they could reduce their tax dollars if they stopped doing this) and even some Canadians buy into this myth. Protect us from what? There's only one country that has ever invaded and that's the United States. There's not much positive result from any military partnership between Canada and the United States. Korea? Afghanistan? Aside from some US soldiers, the American public largely doesn't know Canada was ever there and the politicians keep complaining about how we don't help. We blow billions on these military campaigns and get tariffs on our goods in return. We do nothing with China and get free dumping into their market. This is ignoring the chemical weapons dumps that are in Canada because of the United States military during Vietnam.

I think I'm way off topic here so I'll just end it off like this :P
