Cat Girls And Boys is harder to pot hole though. People are generally only referring to one and it's going to be one gender or the other. And Cat People is right out because of Cat People.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick@Auxdarastrix Considering that I was the one who suggested to use the term as a redirect...
If you people really want to have it that way, then why not make Little Bit Beastly a supertrope then?
It isn't? I just assumed it was already.
From what I read it's Little Bit Beastly and Cat Girl being two tropes of equal levels, not one being a supertrope.
EDIT: Ah, didn't see the poll option.

You realize that thats basically a purely administrative issue, right? Its not a big deal.
Actually, Cat Girl is kinda screwy because it is a subtrope to both Unusual Ears and Little Bit Beastly. It is explicitly listed as seperate subtrope on the Little Bit Beastly page and " Nekomimi" are soft-split on Unusual Ears. Once we finish our changes (dependent on the vote, of course) to the Cat Girl article, I would suggest that we move the examples of Nekomimi on Unsusual Ears to the appropriate tropes, and replace the list there with a brief description of the concept and links to the relevant tropes.

Thread bump.
Attention Mods: So, can we call this crowner in favor of splitting the trope, or not?
Dunno, it's only at 1.8.
Fight smart, not fair.Okay, well if there is not enough consensus to split it, I can live with that. I would like help moving the non-examples (Beast Man, Petting-Zoo People, Were Cat, etc) into more appropriate tropes, though.
Also, I'm creating a Cat Folk proposal which is distinct from Cat Girl in that it covers all feline sapient species. Many of the non-examples currently incorrectly listed under Cat Girl could be moved there.

I think this might be enough. We need the supermajority for major changes, but I'm not sure merely making a supertrope is major. A mod would have to weigh in.
Also, 30 votes isn't really a lot, so maybe we can just wait for more.
Yeah, I'm not seeing why anyone would object to this other than knee-jerk lumperism.
Yeah, and it seems like just letting it sit long enough to be clear was the better choice. Now it's obvious concensus and we can get to work.

We want to make sure the crowner stabilizes before we act on it.
EDIT: Nevermind. Off topic post.

Wait, that's not what the crowner said at all.
EDIT: Nevermind. Off topic post.

The crowner is in favour of splitting into subtropes, but that does not seem to be what was done. o.o
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartBumping again after about a month; this thread seemed to have been forgotten.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI thought Auxdarastrix was YKTTW'ing them, but I don't see them anywhere.
Sorry, got busy with other things.
No, I hadn't done that yet. I had done another trope that was kinda related, but not those two.
I guess I could do it eventually if no one else wants to, but to be honest I have a major term paper due in a month, so I was hoping to dial down my level of participation here for awhile. I could come back to it after the semester is done, but if you don't want to wait that long, you might want to just get it started yourself.

You know what, I think I'll go ahead and start of the YKTTW pages. They are just going to be in very rough format for awhile.
I will need help with deciding which examples go in which trope. Also, examples that don't fit either really should stay on the main page.
Suggestions for things to add to the description would be greatly welcome. I would most especially like input on how to describe the behavoir/personality of respective types in such a way as to make a clear distinction from any other type of Cat Girl.

Calling the crowner.
Crown Description:
Vote up for "Yes", Down for "No".
@ Ookamikun
Kemonomimi is a redirect to Little Bit Beastly. Did you actually click on the link before complaining? Also, we already have Kitsune and a fox section of Little Bit Beastly to cover fox girls.
Right now, Cat Girl has no Japanese redirects. Its only redirect is Cat Boy. I second the request to stick to primary trope names rather than the Japanese version.
Merging Cat Girl back into Little Bit Beastly is not an option. It is too big, too well established, too widely used, and too successful on inbounds to even consider eliminating it as a seperate troup. If anything, Little Bit Beastly is too large and needs to have even more subtropes spun out from it, but that would be a seperate thread and we aren't not going to discuss this here.
What is under the discussion is whether or not Cat Girl needs to have subtropes created for it.
Personally I'd also like to see a rename to Cat Girls And Boys (probably because my favorite example is a catboy in Hellsing), but I can't seem to get any support for that, so unless someone else takes up the cause I'm going to have to drop it for now.
