Yeah, it's really weird that Nintendo didn't do that. I mean, you could have 5 PLAYER RACES!!!!
That's not my problem with it though. I still have an old TV, and if I ever play any multiplayer it's usually 2 player with my brother. So the Wii U Gamepad doubling as a screen was AWESOME! It's probably my favorite gimmick of the Wii U! So the fact that Mario Kart 8 just ignores that feature is pretty frustrating.
Anyway though, I'm super pumped for the DLC! Finally my dream of Super Smash Kart is starting to come true!

I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756Considering this DLC, the possibility of the next Mario Kart game getting the Sega All-Stars treatment is looking better. Then maybe Smash Bros. will also make the jump and bring folks from Sony.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Imagine it, driving, dodging Bulborbs as they try to eat your kart. Drifting up the tree in Twilight River. You then get to the top and fly away, into various Warioware microgames. Where you must jump over cars, drive through a maze, avoid your demonic mother ending with an exit through a nose. You get sneezed out into Mute City, where the speed increases as you jet through the course. Then you are lifted F-Zero style to Green Hill Zone, as you loop the loops almost to your second lap!
Meanwhile, Sackboy catches up to Snake for first place!

Even with these awkward wings, dyed with images that seem to stay. I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756Just make Smash Kart its own franchise rather than trying to shoehorn it into Mario Kart, no?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Eh, trying to compete with SSB and Mario Kart is not as easy as this. Plus, this means few characters are left out at best. I can't wait for Pichu and Mewtwo downloads.
I think if you made Smash Kart a separate franchise, no one would buy Mario Kart anymore. Also, a Nintendo racing collab without their mascot?!
And are you wanting Mewtwo and Pichu for Smash or Mario Kart?
Even with these awkward wings, dyed with images that seem to stay. I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756Both, but I meant Mario Kart 8 in that context.
Keep the main game Mario Kart. DLC can go crazy and become Smash Kart. Keeps the brand intact while also having desirable DLC.
That would be awesome! They should bring back special items for each character like they had in Double Dash. So Mewtwo could use his shadow ball!
I'm not entirely sure if I want that, but it's a good idea! Makes the Mario Kart fans happy and keeps the games fresh with DLC for Smash Kart cravers.
Mostly don't want it because DLC, that means more money I have to spend.
Because there's no way I'm not buying it.

Even with these awkward wings, dyed with images that seem to stay. I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756Well if you don't make Smash Kart any different from Mario Kart, then of course no one would buy Mario Kart. You'd have to make the two games be able to stand out from each other other than just having a bigger list of characters.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. But I want Smash Kart to be Mario Kart though because Mario Kart is so gooood!
You're showing me that there will be people who would be upset if Mario Kart turned into Smash Kart, so maybe it would be better to stick to DLC.
Maybe they could make Smash Kart more like F-Zero, but with items! Couldn't be as fast though.
Even with these awkward wings, dyed with images that seem to stay. I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756There's not anything special to work with to turn Smash Bros. into a Mario Kart-like game. Or racing in general. The biggest thing it has is chaotic items. ...Which Mario Kart does already. They're similar in that particular regard. Of course, Mario Kart has almost all clones except in the few games that has special items for an individual character(or characters) at best.
So I prefer Mario Kart 8 getting SSB characters instead. About the only thing I think would be fun to translate is the courses~
The reason I say that the hypotetical MK 9 might take the "Smash Bros route" is because a Super Smash Kart would basically be "Mario Kart, with more potential characters, items and settings", so there would not be much point in making them separate unless they go for something completely different.
Also, I preordered both DLC packs (Hooray, Black Yoshi!). But alas, the character and cup select screens are still there, taunting me with their meaningless question marks.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I knoow!
It's probably even worse if you didn't buy it, the marks always taunting you.
Forever.

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!! Oh Boy Oh Boy! I finally got my Wii U connected to my University Internet, so I was able to preorder the dlc! Woo! I loved the B-Dasher~
Though its a little puzzling why you cant play as more than one colored Toad, after they gave the treatment to Shy Guy and Yoshi

New vehicle for the first DLC pack.
The Master Cycle. Neat, but the Hylian Shield on the side (sides?) is a little much.
If by "a little much" you mean "a little much AWESOME" then yes.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Agreed!
I can't wait to see what Zelda courses or course they'll have.
I'm wondering if they'll bring in any more classic courses. I'm hoping for Bowser's Castle from Double Dash. I would've much preferred that over Grumble Volcano, they didn't even really add anything to it.
I think I was totally satisfied with the classic courses except for that one. It's not a bad course, I just was hoping for that, it was one of my most hyped for courses.
They should give us a course from Galaxy too, that would be the best!

I also just learned that a few other language call that track Celestial Way. The track should have totally been called Celestial Cruise.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!AW POOP you're right! The Mario Galaxy course in my head looked more like this this
They should still do it though, I don't feel Cloudtop was 'Galaxy' enough!

No Link footage, but there does seem to be some footage of new karts.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
So I did some local multiplayer with my sister and on my gamepad, if I chose to have the screen streamed to it, it was also split screen. I find it weird it does that, considering it would have probably been better if player 1 and player 2 had separate screens (TV and gamepad)
