My guess is because it's so obscure. On Wikipedia, there is such a thing as notability.

Well we here have a rule: There is no such thing as Notability because were not boring. Wikipedia, however, is as boring as hell. I was sleeping halfway through their page of the Event Horizon and Schroodinger's Cat.
And yes, lack notability and it's the axe for the page...

There are plenty of possible reasons.
If you remade the page and did it well (lots of cites of media talking about it, not having most of the page be plot and character summaries, etc.) they probably wouldn't object.

There are people who would object over and over, but if the page was good enough, they'd have to go through a more complicated process than WP:PROD. If you're good enough at arguing, it's not too hard to get the outcome you desire. At least that's from my experience.
