From another forum, I got pointed to a surprisingly good article about fanfiction
, which covers different kinds of fanfiction, why people write it, how authors react to it, even the historical record of fanfiction (like the Aenid, among others). I'm used to only seeing fanfiction being ragged on by mainstream media, so this is a nice change. Especially given how much fanfiction I've read ([cmoa] to Undocumented Features).
