When I first saw the title, I thought it was about the stereotype that if you don't have a date it must mean you're unappealing to the opposite sex. (Well, at least for males anyway; not sure how common the stereotype is for females.)
This trope seems more along the lines of Informed Attribute where the attribute is bad luck with dating; perhaps a title reflecting that would be more fitting. Dateless doesn't necessarily mean "in no position to date" and they shouldn't be used interchangably.
