This is true. But I don't hold this against him, because I think it's how pretty much anyone would react in that situation. Lelouch is a very human villain, and that's what makes him flawed. Which makes the comparison to Light very interesting, because while they share a lot of superficial qualities, Light's inhuman nature is what makes him so flawed.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. When Lelouch first started giving the "From this day forward, you will obey my orders!" command, he was planning to imprison himself in C's World for all eternity later that same day. Makes the distinction between permanent and temporary slave kinda moot.
@ Man with the Plan: you are certainly correct about some characters. Like Suzaku. Some, not so much.
When you remember that we are all mad, all questions disappear and life stands explained.I was with Suzaku until...well, all of R2 really. There he was just such a villainous prick who still kept on whining about how everything was Zero's fault. I know the dude has issues but he took it so far that I just lost all the empathy that I had for him.
And remember Nina and Ougi? Yeah, they earned their status among fans.

Eh, given how far behind schedule it seems to be so far, I think I'll go with the opinion of the Bandai guy, who said next year, over a company who makes figures for them.

Well, at least you can say they know when to end a character's story.
