I really don't think it's as extreme as all that, guys. The two biggest problems with the Democratic party now are in-fighting and voter apathy, both of which can be solved with words, and wouldn't be helped by fists.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."As much as I would love to shove my fascist jackboot down some liberal throats, I don't think violence will accomplish half as much as liberals getting off their asses and voting will.
I mean really, so lazy that they would rather just revolt than vote? That's how Democracy works, if your side is too lazy to make it to the polls in the first place, their views don't deserve to be heard in the first place.
And if they're prevented from voting even if they want to?
That's what worries me more than anything else, Wisconsin ideas spreading to other states. Simple apathy can be fought with organized and high-volume marketing and good follow-through. But what happens when they tell you that you need an extra form of identification from an office that's only open in Republican districts and only open every second Sunday of the month (because of budget cutbacks, dontcha know)?
How do you fight that?
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Or you go to your designated polling place and you see the line going around the block. You might not get out to vote.
Every election you hear stories of lawsuits to try and keep polls open past closing time. Every bloody election. I've heard reports of lineups in the multiple of hours.
I really do think that these discrepancies are actually a major factor in the American political system.
Democracy is the process in which we determine the government that we deserve^^
Most states don't have that issue. If they did, that would be different.
You don't even need 'most' states. Just the 'swing' ones.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. Why does it always come back to that god-dammed Electoral College?
I'm a skeptical squirrelBecause the Electoral College is rather key in deciding who gets to rule our country for four years. You got any ideas for changing that you're free to share with us.
The short answer is that the left has historically much less involved voters than the right. Being made up mostly of younger people is one factor, but there are others.
The long answer is like that, but longer.
Well, the French Revolution was a bust. It wrecked the existing social order, with no one but Napoleon to pick up the pieces. I think Jefferson's maxim of "nurturing with blood" will just lead into another form of domination.
