Cause a good portion of the examples are just Wild Mass Guessing that characters with big guns, sword etc.... are somehow compensating because they have small penises and I don't think that's a trope. Now this trope is indexed under Stock Phrases, so perhaps it would be best to limit this trope to cases with the phrase is actually used.

How about limiting it to in-universe examples?

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!

[up] I like that idea. It would make it much neater and it would keep it as a trope. It doesn't need to be the exact wording. Just having it pointed out. "makes up for his small dick" is just as valid a way as using the title.

I took it off the Stock Phrases index.

And I just took out all the examples I could identify as

  • That sure is a big <whatever>!
  • Speculation
  • X Just X

Couldn't do much with the video games or anime sections, since I'm not very knowledgeable about them

Bump. I think this trope needs more than a example clean up, the description needs a rewite.

[up] I took out a few more, I think the page is good as far as examples go but yes, the trope description needs a rewrite. Also this page needs a new image.

Calling it. Limit to in-universe wins. Now to put that into practice.

The examples on the pages are cleand up, and the description is a changed.

I went through some of the wicks, it seems there is a lot clean up necessary, the trope seems often be used to comment on the weapons of a chracter in a "funny" sinkhole.

There are a lot of wicks. Some cleanup help would be nice...

What have you cleaned so far?

I don't have a lot free time at the moment, so I was just able to pick some random wicks and get an idea of how many of them are In-Universe.

Checked punctuated and a handful of A. Not sure on some of them. What about wicks on WMG pages?

[up] I generally cut the wicks if it's just a sinkhole or can be removed without changing the meaning of what's written. But if it's actually being discussed in some way, I would generally leave them alone.

I'm creating a list of what has been cleared. If you clear out a section, please post it, and I'll update this list to help us keep track of what's been done.
