I dont know who owns the rights to Crash at the moment, but best of luck to you my friend! Also, regarding on Tawna. I have a friend who used to work for Naughty Dog who is currently working at Double Fine Studios(Brutal Legend, Pyschonauts). And he told me about the story of tawna.
He said to me that after the first game was released, they got a couple of angry letters from angry parents complaining about Tawna's design. During the beginning process of the development on Cortex strikes back they tried to tone down the design of the character. But none of them were great in any way, I saw one of the planned redesigns for tawna and one of them was somebody like Jessica rabbit. They thought none of those designs were great so they decided to ditch her out of the series and replace coco(which they never explained HOW she got with Crash in the first place). Still, at least they still have pictures of her in the games for cameos.
Well isn't Coco Crash's sister and they just live on the island together?
Also, I think Tawna was one of the winner's circle ladies from CTR.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave Johnson1. Who owns the rights to the series?
Currently, Activision owns the rights to the Crash Bandicoot series.
Wizard Needs Food BadlyFrom what I remember, Naughty Dog was constantly being forced to alter Twana's design into what we saw in the first game due to an obstructive buearucrat. She was originally going to be even more sexualized then she was in the game. After having to go through all the crap they had to with her, they just decided to drop her from the sequel.
I believe the full story, straight from one of Naughty Dog's founders no less, can be found on the Crash Mania Wiki. I'd link it, but I lack the ability to copy/paste on my phone.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Sadly, nobody owns the rights now, as Activision fired the team who made the new Crash games, so the series is pretty much cancelled unless someone else gets them. A shame, too, since I actually like Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant.
@Bat 178 So Crash is public domain? SWWWWWEEEEEEEETTTT!
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DNo, Crash isn't public domain. Activision owns the franchise.
Easy street has no parking signs.
A few of my friends asked me these two questions regarding on Crash Bandicoot. I'll list them out.
