A Game of Gods: Infinities

Model A shifted back slightly at Jail's approach. " My name's Model A. Before you ask, no, I won't tell you what the A stands for, since that's very personal, and secondly I'm a Biometal - I allow my user to transform into a megamerged form. Pretty cool, huh? It only works on certain people, though, like Grey..."

If the Biometal was going to explain things further, it stopped when Gunner tripped. " Hey, careful! I don't want to see anyone breaking their neck on my watch. That, and Grey would kill me if someone got hurt while I was around... crazy kid. "

"You're a reploid?" Grey blinked in surprise, though he equally felt excited. Finally, there would be someone at least somewhat familiar around here, and he wouldn't have to explain so much when the inevitable questions rolled around. "You must be one of the older types or a specialised model... you certainly don't look like one. Anyway, you're right - I am a civilian model. Or at least, I think I am. I can't do much by myself, but some special equipment I have allows me to go toe to toe with combat models."

It was a bit weird to describe oneself in terms of "models", as though you were something that had rolled off the assembly line rather than a living, thinking being. The 14 year old tried to avoid referring to himself in such terms whenever possible, but sometimes it was unavoidable.

"I am not sure where Rosenkreutz-sama went to, unfortunately." Hisui replied. "She was with me when I put Takamachi-san to bed, but that was the last I saw of her."

"...Let me guess, no vampires in your world?" Kohaku seemed to read Chun-Li's blank expression like a book. "Then again, most of the vampires I've met don't really match the legends, so I'm not sure if describing them as "vampires" is really the best thing to do, ahah~"

She gave the street fighter a friendly slap on the shoulder. "Don't think too much into it. Basically, it's, um, magic, right? Ah, I guess things like that stop being so confusing when you serve a family like the Tohnos all your life, ufu~"

Jail stopped trying to get closer on account of pointlessness.

"Very cool indeed. I would love to see how you work. That Grey... Is he outside? Some other "newbies" are lurking around and they are not as friendly."

"Well, the food can wait until everyone's had their rest then. I should probably get some sleep as well, it's been a rough day. You're in for some tough times Hisui, but I'm sure you can survive."

With that, Cletus headed off to find somewhere out of people's paths to sleep, probably a closet or some other room that nobody would look twice at. It was a habit to sleep where people couldn't find him. After all, just sleeping on a bed in an unlocked hotel room was practically asking to get killed.

"DON'T worry about me Jack. I'll be fine... alone... in my TARDIS."

" Aw, shucks. Uh... anyway, yeah, he's outside. Probably still feeling sorry for himself and generally being a downer. If there are bad guys out there, then I'll help him take 'em on - Grey's nothing without me around. Together, we're a lean, mean, fighting machine!" If the Biometal could have been flushed with pride, it was pretty obvious that Model A would have been so. It settled for making its' teal optics glow extra brightly and jolting upward for a moment before gently floating back to its' normal level. " If you're really that worried about him - I dunno why - then I'll go check, if you want. But don't get so highly strung: that kid can take care of himself, though he can't really do much without me, as I said."

"You know him better, you are the one to judge. One of those guys called himself "reploid Vile" and they both were pretty homicidal."

"Heh your correct I am specialised. I was a former Maverick Hunter I had all the parts that would hold me back in combat removed and replaced with weapons." Vile started pacing "It's quite clear that your not a Maverick so I won't blow you up. However I am very interested in what you just said. You have special equipment that allows you to go toe to toe with combat models. I can't help ask what?"

Gunner simply left the two of them alone as she retreated into the inner sanctum that was known as the fourth floor. Loath as she was to even consider spending less time with a technological marvel and a man with futuristic equipment, she had to ensure her body was ready for the next day.

Sinking into her chair, Gunner slid open a drawer to remove an innocuous vial. Popping the cork off, she carefully spilled out a white pill before stoppering the container. Bracing herself, she swallowed the thing and put one of her empty gun holsters between her teeth.

Wordless cries of pain erupted from the woman, barely muffled by the barrier clenched in her mouth. Said cries kept continuing, at first loud, then slowly growing weaker until at last the woman slumped back, reeling from the session.

And so, Gunner retired for the night, having seen to the guest's various needs and finally her own.

"I've never met any vampires," Chun-Li shook her head at Kohaku's comments. She would never want to meet a vampire. Chun-Li then yawned and stretched her arms. She only got an hour or two of sleep from waiting in the bedroom with her leg injured.

" A reploid who was homicidal, huh? Must've been a Maverick or somethin'. Grey's a reploid, too, by the way." Model A looked back the way it had come. " ...I guess I'd better check up on him, then. Thanks."

With that, the Biometal began floating back toward the exit, although at its' current speed it would only reach it in a few minutes.

"A former 'Maverick Hunter'?" Grey's confusion was plain to see. He knew of the 'Hunters' - the group he was a part of - and Mavericks, but no 'Maverick Hunters'. His downbeat mood had mostly evaporated by now, though it lingered somewhat. "So you fought Mavericks too? Cool. About my equipment... it's called a 'Biometal'. It gives me a combat form."

Grey glanced over at the castle and began walking in its' direction. Stopping, he looked back for a moment. "Um... anyway, I guess I'd probably better meet up with the others. It's been nice talking to you, whoever you are."

After parting with the Biometal, Jail was left to wander the castle - and immediately upon finding directions headed to the arsenal to see what the castle had at disposal.

Mehir, too, was sucked up by the portal, wherever he was. The portal did dump him near Gunner's castle, but he avoided it, immediately running away. He was deeply ashamed; how could have he behaved in such a manner? How? The question asked itself, again and again, in his head. How? Surely, Rashti would be disappointed, as would be the other Summoners... He did not notice, but tears were dropping into his beard. How?

"If we did not worry, we would not be your friends. I cannot change that, nor do I wish to. If you want to be alone, I will not stop you, but if you want to be friendless, I can."

He glanced over at Fluttershy.

"Excuse me, you say you have lost something? What is that?"

From where he'd landed on the ground, there was a faint groan, and after a second, Rey sat up slowly, grumbling in some kind of groggy pain. He reached up to remove his helmet, setting it down and rubbing his head lightly, wincing, eyes still closed. "Goddamn, Saren, no more of that blue stuff, never again..."

"Um, you see, my necklace is part of a set of powerful artifacts called the Elements of Harmony," Fluttersy started to explain, "mine being the Element of Kindness. My other five friends are the other wielders. I don't know who made them, but they are used whenever something really, really bad happens, like when Discord, a God of Chaos and big stinky meanie plunged Equestria into Eternal Chaos and our rulers, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, used the Elements to trap him inside a statue.

"My and my friends had to use the Elements again to trap him again when Discord got out," Fluttershy continued. "Princess Celestia also had to use the Element to trap her sister Luna to the moon when she turned evil and became Nightmare Moon. My friends and I restored her to normal when we first discovered the Elements." Fluttershy blushed bright red from professional embarassment. "Its kind of a big deal....." she said. She then kicked the ground with her forehoof.

"Yes feel free to go I hope we meet again. ''Biometal? this sounds like somthing I can use." Vile started walking off.

"Well then... I might want to help you find this. If that little necklace can be part of a god destroying weapon, then we might need it one day." Shotaro told Fluttershy.

Rey looked around, then got up, heading over to Fluttershy and Jack, carrying his helmet under his arm and rubbing his head. "Hey, guys. Did we finish the last challenge already?"

Nefarious had finally completed his long and completely unnecessary route to Gunner's castle. He saw that the forcefield appeared to be down and landed at the front door to the fortress.

Following mad scientist etiquette (or, at least, his mad scientist etiquette), he knocked on the door, completely failing to notice that Grey and Vile were also outside.

Jack tried to hide his surprise, but failed. He doesn't remember. That may be for the best, but is it right to keep the truth from him? In the end, truth won out.

"Yes," he said. "We did. You don't remember anything?"

Rey tilted his head slightly, reaching up to rub one eye. "Well, not really. I know we saw Eddie..." He smiled somewhat. "That's such a huge load off my mind, actually, knowing he's okay...but I just know we got there and had to go fight Doviculus and...I dunno, then it's just all black. Guess I took one in the skullcap. Man, I wish I'd had my armor on, that would've helped."

"Rey... You..." Shotaro said. He couldn't bring the events up to him, out of fear of what would happen to him. This was another habit he had. "... Nevermind..." Shotaro said, adjusting his hat.

Rey looked at Shotaro, raising his eyebrows. "What? We won, right? Everything's fine back there, isn't it?" He glanced at the others. "Everything's okay back there, right? Eddie's okay, Lita, Ophelia...they're not hurt, are they?"

Grievous came through the portal just in time to hear Rey's explanation. He had charged through to the portal when it had appeared.

He decided to not be gentle.

“Not much happened actually Mysterio. You were possessed by the Sea, transformed into a monster that tried to destroy everything around you. You brainwashed several of our members, and attempted it with myself. You later regretted that. Your friend Riggs decapitated you after verbally taking you to pieces.” Grievous coughed several times during his talking.
