I'm sorry. I don't really know what to say.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyHere is something from me:
One minute I was listening to an awesome new song, and then I checked my RP messages: on one RP, a favorite character tragically died in a well written Tear Jerker moment.

My sympathies, OP - you might want the "Anxiety" thread in Yack Fest.
Basically any sort of news reporting is prone to this. At the moment MSN is alternating headlines about the Oslo murders with "ten things you didn't know about Justin Theroux" (Jennifer Anniston's latest man-friend). There was a famous headline from The Onion just after 9/11 that ran something like "A shattered nation longs to care about stupid bullshit again."

"Well, it's a lifestyle"You'd better hope CrazyGoggs doesn't see that post.
Hail Martin Septim!Well, I was a bit shaken by the envents of Norway last night, but when i went to work,, last reports I heard were ten or so victims. But it was a nice day outside, and I enjoyed myself.
Then I got to work and logged on ffacebook, and the phrase "84 victims" crossed my sight. I've been pretty shaken since then.
Yeah, the sheer scale is shocking here. I suspect we've all become a bit desensitised to smaller mass killings, whether in terrorist attacks, random shootings or whatever, simply because they're reported so often. In the UK, we had thirty-odd years of the Troubles in Northern Ireland and then 9/11, Iraq and Afghanistan.

But yeah, Mood Whiplash is always present in today's news reporting; it always amazes me what we're asked to care about.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~@OP: Hypothetical question...would it feel better to have seen those things in reverse?
All the Mood Whiplash I've seen so far have always been to ...never the other way around.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."There's a lot going on these days* and it can really screw with your emotions. I don't quite need the anxiety thread though.
And note how I said "mood whiplash" not "bad stuff happening" too. I hope we get someone in here who can cheer us up with a good one, but then this thread would demonstrate that trope also.
I wish it had been the other way around almost. Not sure how I would have reacted then.

I just had a nasty, nasty case of mood whiplash.
Opened an email from a friend that had pictures of his newborn son in it.
Five minutes later I had a new email. It turns out a (different, unrelated) friend had his little brother killed by a drunk driver.
Well shit.
I'm not sure what to think right now. I just needed to share this.
