If you fellow tropers don't mind, I'm having trouble coming up with a title/name for The Unseen Big Bad of my next short story. If anybody has some good ideas, I'm well up to hearing them.

So here are a few facts about the bad:

  • He's a rising criminal kingpin. In the plot's setting, the largest underworld syndicate operating in the US has just been busted, so there's a huge power gap. The Big Bad needs to compete with a dozen other crime families to come out on top, and replace the former syndicate with a new criminal organization.

  • He's well-known for making people "disappear" very, very quickly. Anyone who gets in his way simply drops off the face of the earth, never to be seen again. Even his most powerful rivals are not immune to this fate. He usually leaves the families and children alone, but they've done a few magic acts from time to time as well.

  • No one has ever seen him. Some think he's just a boogeyman, and others think that his influence is being greatly overrated. In either case, his name still carries powerful weight despite the fact that not even some of his top lieutenants has even seen his face.

  • He's actually a good guy. In truth, he's a textbook case of a Good Is Not Nice Anti-Hero that has FBI support in order to limit the power of the underworld. The truth is, his goal is to keep the underworld under his eye and limit the power of the other crime bosses by placing himself well out of their league. The people who "disappear", unless they're Complete Monsters or if they force his hand, are all relocated with new identities.

Hmmm... Chad Kilroy. After the famous "Kilroy was here" graffiti (AKA Chad).

...Or not. Just my suggestion.
