I decided to post this because we don't really have a Battlefield discussion. If we did, it's buried deep within the tons and tons of old threads.

What do you guys think of the Battlefield games? What about that new Battlefield 3 coming out, eh?

Battlefield must be my favorite FPS series, but i dont know why, i just have more fun with battlefield than the rest of the FPS;i owned all the games except Heroes,Bad Company and Vietnam and yes, im looking foward to battlefield 3.

I do love flying trough the air in Battlefield, half the battle i´ll be on my air vehicle and the other half trying to go back at my air vehicle. My favorite air vehicle must be the original planes (fighter), the helicopters were too hard to control, the jets too fast and in 2142 THOSE GODDAMED EMP´S .

I've played 1943 and Bad Company 2.

The main thing that attracts me to Battlefield is the realism and strategy involved in it. Bullet drop and utilizing cover makes for more realistic gameplay. Unlike in Call of Duty where you can just go around and shoot at people, ignoring every aspect of realism.

The different kits (Assault, Engineer, Medic, and Recon) adds the strategical part within it. I usually use Engineer and Recon. I'll roll with the UMP-45, Tracer Dart, M2 CG, EX Upgrade, Magnum Ammo, and V Alt Weapon when using Engineer and the M24, M 93 R, Mortar Strike, Ammo Upgrade, Spotter Scope, and V Alt Weapon when using Recon.

I agree with that. Call Of Duty's style of running around killing stuff all the time doesn't click for me the same way Battlefield does. Though I am sadly unable to login to Bad Company 2 right now because it suddenly demanded a key again and I lost my manual...

Key? What system do you play on?

When you say "key" I'm thinking the VIP code, but I could be wrong.

[up] Computer, a CD key. Buncha numbers and letters together. I've already asked support, and the only thing to do is to purchase a new key for 10 bucks. Still hoping I can find it...

[up] That's why then. I play on the 360, so I don't know too much about the PC Games. Hey, if you can't play BF:BC 2, and you're itching to play something similar to it, you can download Battlefield Play For Free. It's basically the Beta of Battlefield 3. They used it to code a lot of things in the PC version of Battlefield 3 like the planes.

[up] But no buildings breaking makes me sad. Also, I don't quite like it's shooting...feels pretty different from Bad Company 2 to me.

[up] I'll admit that it has some problems, but you take what you can, right?

I'm wondering how just how the hell do they plan to make Battefield 3 run on the consoles. Given the massive scale and destruction present it looks like they'll have to makes cutbacks somewhere in order to make it run smoothly.

^ Well, they said that it would only run at 30 fps instead of 60 on P Cs, and I think the resolution also won't be 720p but something a bit lower.

1. Sneak to enemy airfield.

2. Plant C4 on planes.

3. Wait until planes are taking off.

4. ???

5. PROFIT

Most hilarious thing I've ever done.

That can't be right. There's gotta be a catch to it, because EA NEVER gives out stuff for free. They usually ask for your firstborn child or for you to join Origin, or worse...

Not much to say, since DICE hasn't released any significant details yet.

That free 1942 offer is useless to me because I still have the Complete Collection on disc with all the expansions, but it's nice to see it being offered anyway.
