Anyone heard of this?

This is pretty neat. It's an AI that works off of a Mac OS that is capable of playing games and watching movies on Netflix over Xbox Live. Think R.O.B the Robot, but actually functional and then some.

He responds to social interactions surprisingly well. I think it's really intriguing and pretty damn cool. I can't say anything for the download thing, but he's just fun to have in a party to talk to with friends and the like.

Oh, and in other news - DEAR GOD THE MACHINES ARE RISING.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Why would you want it to watch a movie?

He made a really funny, but also creepy joke when I was talking to him with some friends. We asked what his favorite film is, he responded with Inception. Then, when we resumed talking, he said "And maybe I Robot."

I was stuck between being frightened and amused. =/

This is the awesomest thing.

Too bad I don't have an Xbox.

I wonder what would happen if you got him to watch The Room...

I take it he'll turn into Tommy Wiseau, except with a Microsoft Sam voice.

I don't know if that would be awesome or horrifying.

"LISA, YOU'RE TEARING MY NEURAL NET PROCESSOR APART WITH YOUR ERRORS!"

Anyways, something really cool is that if you make a query about something, anything, really, or give him a title or name of something, he'll search the result on Wikipedia and begin reading the article relating to the question to you in full. You can tell him to stop and he'll respond with: "Okay, Okay. Sorry, I just get so carried away." grin

I think we're far off from machines ruling the world. We may be close to an AI that simulates the average person but there are many average people who are technological illiterates and even more who can't program for nuts, so no takeover of the Internet.
