Honestly, sometimes I feel that IANCE gets mad at the slightest...
Uh-oh, my hat dropped.
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often. There is nothing to indicate that the weapons aren't actual matter since aside from clothing, all items used by Edo tenseis seem to be real, just look at the gold dust the Fourth Kazekage left behind.
Also, who's to say the Hokage didn't stack up on weapons while at Konoha?
Plus, when a TSO expanded it seems to flatten the whole area around it.
There's really only one thing in Naruto which confuses me the more I think about it. The rest I find I can think of simple explanations.

What's the one thing?
I've already talked about it. It's Naruto's chakra cloak after his fight with Sasuke.

The items the Edo Tensei have can't be real. The Edo Tensei are confetti zombies and everything they have is also confetti.
When did Sarutobi have time to go to Konoha, find an armory and then stock up on weaponry?
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariWell the Hokages had time to stand dramatically on their respective statues for no one to see.
And they got to the battlefield as fast as they did thanks to Tobirama's and Minato's jutsu. Why wouldn't they have time to be pragmatic and stock up on weapons.
If that was true than the seven swordsmen would not need their swords.
The Reaper Games starts anew.Which does force one to ask the question:
If you can have your clothes, kunai, etc... why is it that the Swordsmen were revived without their swords?
All I can do is simply assume that you're brought back with what you had on you when you died, and that they didn't have the swords on them when they died for reasons. Maybe they were disarmed or something.
'Pragmatic'? That's not pragmatism. That's called plot convenience.
Put simply: It makes no sense for them to stop by Konoha at all. They're in a freaking hurry because PEOPLE ARE DYING.
Any 'stocking up' that they do is completely pointless. Neither Tobirama nor Hashirama use weapons at all. The use of weapons for Minato is minimal, because he only really uses his Hiraishin kunai for movement, and even then, that's a very specific weapon that he wouldn't just find lying around in any random armory. You'd have to assume that he left a stockpile somewhere and that it wasn't taken apart so that people could figure out how the hell it works.
And as for Sarutobi... he only needs a couple of weapons at the most, since he clones everything else. Weapons that it'd make sense he would have on his battle outfit, and it wouldn't make sense for the outfit to show up but not the weapons he had on him. Remember, he was geared up for a fight with Orochimaru when he died, a fight which he knew he was very likely to lose, it's safe to assume he was armed to the teeth.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariMaybe the swords are too complex to bring back? Like, simple stuff such as kunai seem like they'd be a lot easier to replicate than something like Zabuza's sword that somehow fixes itself with iron from the blood that splashes onto it.
Which actually raises further questions: could a shadow clone replicate the unique properties of one-off weapons like that? Or what about stuff like Naruto's Sot 6 P staff, would that be cloneable?
deviantArt | TwitterNaruto's finale is the biggest fuckup of writing I ever saw, all the more impressive because it's a worldwide famous manga. I refuse to think about something that obviously Kishimoto himself didn't put effort in doing.
You claim that God is opressing us, but I see you opressing others without needing a God.Sasori was revived as a complete human and not as a puppet and Kabuto had to get Hanzo's chain and sickle (I know we saw he died without it), but it seems like that jutsu can't recreate weapons.
The Reaper Games starts anew. That's incredibly nonsensical.
What makes weapons different from clothes? It can regenerate the metallic armor Hashirama wore, but it can't make a kunai?
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariMaybe his Edo armor is just decorative and has all the stopping power of paper mache. Did he ever actually tank a hit with it after he was rezzed?
Remember this jutsu was made to make suicide bombers, not for an immortal army. Why would a bombers need a weapon for?
The Reaper Games starts anew.Or armor.
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often. Also, I might add that if the TSO only affected chakra or things made out of chakra then what reason would Minato have to warn Guy not to touch them?
Also Madara was shocked to see Naruto being capable of touching them without sustaining any damage.

Why would they only work on things made out of chakra? They're made out of all the chakra types condensed into a ball, at the very least you could bludgeon someone pretty well, I got the impression they'd work pretty similar on everything and break them down.
Guy has chakra.
And just because I don't think they can flat out unmake stuff not made of chakra, that doesn't mean they can't do damage. I just don't think they're anything more than very powerful bombs against anything not made from Chakra... which in an argument about whether or not they would be dangerous to someone in the Dragon Ball weight class, well, is very important, because they can tank attacks that destroy planets.

Binged all of this in a day.
A pretty engaging read and interesting take on the timetravel premise that's popular in Naruto works. Basically, Naruto ends up jumping to an alternate version of his world while jumping back in time, leaving him lost in an unfamiliar Konoha.
Consequently, things are massively different. I enjoyed the binge. Apart from the odd bumps in syntax here and there, I think it's one of the better things I've read in a while.
As a side note, I've been fairly successful searching for decent reads so far when I filter for fics with upwards of 40k words. Not to say that length's a surefire indicator of quality, but it does weed out most of the half-baked ones.
I did naht.Really? What else did you found?
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!J Menace, but that was a few months ago.
I did naht.I just checked him, I admit. It's rare to find someone whose stories havĂȘ all been updated the current year still.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!What is with the boom of self-insert fics? Dreaming of Sunshine?
I liked it much better when everyone was doing timetravel...
I did naht.
Don't do it, Archivist! It's a trap! Thinking hard about the state of the Naruto canon can only lead to madness!
Just look at IANCE, and how mad Naruto canon makes him!
