I was going to say Nightmare, but that would be overkill.

Well. It's going down.

I figure Bats will put up a good fight if they let him prepare himself before hand, but Spidey will take it. Batman is good, but I don't think he can take Spiderman even on his worst days.

Get you flame proof suits ready. No matter who wins, this one is going to set the internet ablaze.

Well it all depends. Does Batman have Preptime. Answer. He always has Preptime. So Batgod wins.

But seriously Spidey takes this relatively easily.

Yeah. It's not the strength or the agility (Bruce has dealt with strong guys, and he might be able to handle the speed. It's the Spider-Sense that does it.

Bruce has nothing for that.

Well, it was fairly obvious. Both superheroes have enjoyed a recent crop of reasonably successful games (Arkham Asylum and Arkham City for Bats, and Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, and Amazing for Spidey) and been the protagonists of both acclaimed cartoons and just-released blockbuster movies. There's also the long-standing debate over who would win.

That said, Spidey takes this. Batman's successfully dealt with foes stronger than him, but most of his enemies are Hulk-like in proportion and relatively slow. In comparison, Spidey's got reflexes and agility 40x that of a normal human. If Spidey wanted to he could kill a human in one punch; Batman's armour may slow that, but not by much, and Spider-Man has defeated foes with arsenals similar to Batman's (I'm looking at you, Norman Osborn.)

That aside, a new proposal: Ridley vs. the Dovahkiin. Can the Dragonborn slay the one that not even Samus can put down?

Considering Ridley is more or less a space dragon...

[up][up]You mean, put down permanently. Ridley's been killed a ton of times.

Also, I bet that the Dragonborn would win that fight.

Anyway, looks like we have a "recently made into another movie" battle on our hands.

Technically he only died twice - once when Zebes was destroyed at the end of Super Metroid, and once at the end of Other M (not counting zombie Neo-Ridley from Fusion). After his defeat in the first game story-wise he was just badly injured, put on life-support, and cybernetically enhanced Darth Vader-style to become Meta Ridley. As for how he went from being Omega Ridley back to being normal Ridley, the going theory is that either the Phazon healed him and/or he regenerated by eating (an ability he was revealed to possess in the prequel manga).

Ridley is nigh-invincible to Samus' weaponry (usually just his mouth is vulnerable), so Dovahkiin's medieval weaponry would be of little use there. The Dragonrend Thu'um - which was necessary for killing Alduin - would be useless since Ridley is mortal - albeit very hard to kill. Coupled with his ability to fly at supersonic speeds and the fact that even as a juvenile his breath was hot enough to melt a durable fictional alloy that not even Samus can dent... Dovahkiin's offensive Thu'um may do the trick, but my money's on the purple dragon.

Just saw the new post. May I start by saying this show is awesome? I may find some of their logic a bit of a stretch in how they work out winners, but the fights are still entertaining. And remember, it's a representation of who wins, not a determination in of itself.

That being said, I'm betting this is gonna become a very sore spot whoever wins. They're immensely powerful super heroes, so whichever team wins, it's gonna end up being a broken base for sure. Also, this will end up being very interesting to write about in the Tropes Pantheon.

If they do it in 3D, I wonder where they'll get the character models from.

I'm guessing The Arkham Asylum series and Spider Man Edge Of Time or Spiderman Shattered Dimensions.

The Amazing Spider-Man game has it's spidey looking too different, and they almost always go for the most iconic look (with The Mighty Thor being the exception. His new look seems to be well regarded).

Pretty much.

With the level of research these guys do, it's unlikely they won't say the same.

Someone pointed out that the guy with more tools to use usually wins, which in this case would be Batman.

Maybe, but with his Spider-Sense, strength, agility, and his own tools (though fewer than Batman's), I think Spidey still takes this.

He's dealt with guys who...accessorize as much as Bats, and still won.

One of my ideas was Carnage vs. Alex Mercer, seeing how they have similar powers. Carnage's shapeshifting powers are limited only by Cletus' imagination and he is physically stronger than Alex: Carnage is able to lift 80-to-90 tons, but Alex can't lift an operational M1 Abrams tank, which weighs 62 tons, and is only able to pick up a burnt-out shell. However, Alex is more durable than Carnage.

Thoughts?

Mercer. He survived a nuke. Carnage can't handle fire or loud noises.

Not so much survived, as almost escaped one. Even so I'd say this one would go to Mercer.

He was caught in the blast and he didn't die. That's surviving it in my book.

Venom survived getting thrown into an inferno without injury and Carnage is supposed to be more heat-resistant than him, and Alex needed to eat crow (literally) to get back on his feet after the nuke fried him. Besides, where's Alex gonna get a nuke? Alex may be Made of Iron, but he's not invincible, and just about anything he can do Cletus can do as well, aside from consuming people (unless you count the Ultimate version). If it comes down to endurance, then Alex is better, seeing how he can exert himself indefinitely while Carnage can only keep plugging for 24 hours before getting tired. However, unlike Alex, Cletus is fully bulletproof while clad in the symbiote, and is also immune to earthly diseases, which presumably includes BLACKLIGHT.

Alex might not be able to get a nuke, but he doesn't need it. The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (as cited by The Other Wiki) actually says that Carnage is much more vulnerable to fire than Venom. Just toss him into a fire of some sort, and you have one roasted symbiotic pair. The symbiote is also vulnerable to loud noises, and Alex can easily create those, or get Carnage into an area where loud noises are common, especially if the fight is noticed by the military.

Also, the Sentry ripped Carnage in half, and he normally restrains himself. Alex is capable of ripping normal humans in half as if they were paper, and without the symbiote, that's all Carnage is.

Alex is also bulletproof with the Armor and Shield powers, though I agree that he is not invincible. Just too tough a nut for Carnage to crack. And Alex would never even try to infect Carnage with Blacklight, as he's Exhibit A of what Alex dislikes about humanity.

Yeah but even though Carnage was ripped in half (by the Sentry the second strongest-strongest person in Marvel) he still survived in space with Cassidy for months.
