What are you talking about? Completely Missing The Point was renamed to Comically Missing the Point. They are the same trope.
They weren't combined. The trope used to be named Completely Missing The Point and it was renamed "Comically" to get across that it's supposed to be a comedy trope. We kept the old title as a redirect to avoid screwing up any inbound links.
Here's the wayback machine's archive of the page from December 2007. It's indexed under Comedy Tropes.
To be more specific, Completely Missing The Point is a stale, left over link that isn't really intended to be used. The concept itself was probably judged to be People Sitting On Chairs (at a guess), but old names usually aren't deleted unless they actually cause problems. The trope is Comically Missing the Point.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. We should probably redlink Completely Missing The Point.
Fight smart, not fair. That was my vote from the start, but it didn't get a high enough ratio to be allowed.
According to "Related...", the old title has brought 24,523 people to the wiki.
No, I mean redlink like X Just X where it still exists as a redirect, but shows up red.
Fight smart, not fair. That was an option in the crowner. It had a 0 (probably because only six people voted on it, as opposed to over 40 for the others). Only two mutually exclusive options got in the green, and neither got a 2.0 ratio or above.
Here is the thread/crowner. I've bumped it twice hoping to get some resolution, and nothing happened. So I pretty much threw in the towel and figured someone else could take it from here, because I obviously didn't have any impact. :P
Well, I went back and voted for it.
Fight smart, not fair.
Okay, this is my first post, so bare with me. Anyway, If I may ask, why is 'Comically missing the point' and 'Completely missing the point' combined into one trope? I mean It really doesn't make sense...
