A bit late here but the reason Mio appears with Akane and Aiko a lot in fandom is because of the Mobage game, where they make up Positive Passion. You see quite a few of these units together in the anime, such as Sexy Guilty (Sanae, Shizuku, and Yuko) as the policewomen in Episode 5. Uzuki, Miho, and Kyouko are also a unit, Pink Check School, though that's a case of their initial card releases having a similar idol costume(to promote the suggestion that they are a unit) and later being officially given a unit name.

Funnily enough, other than New Generations and Triad Primus, the units that the anime forms are pretty much original. As noted earlier, Minami, Anya, and Ranko were basically never associated together until the anime.

Hahaha.

Career-wise, Rin probably has the best track records among the Cinde Pro.

Also, Karen is probably okay.

Man, I wish there was another anime on Cinderella Girls.

Instead of full fledged story, a much lower budgeted one four or two anime of what is essentially a collection of Slice of Life goodness.

Especially Project Krone girls. Because goddamn, they have so much potential for all the hilarities.

Fredericka, Shuko, Arisu, Fumika...and really, need more Triad Primus.

Triad Primus. That name is WAY too cool for an idol unit name.

All in all, I like Cinderella Girls anime significantly more than the first anime.

It all comes down to waifus.

Closest thing to a waifu I got from this series is probably Hayami Kanade.

I was actually writing a story and I wasn't sure how to write the main character's love interest. Then I learned about Kanade and she became the inspiration.

I swear, she was supposed to be at least five years older.

Also, Kamiya Nao. I tell you, she is a misplaced Cute Type idol. XD

Nao has got some rocking doujins.

Tsundere as fuck. Good choice on idoru, Hayami is legit.

I can't believe that among Triad Primus Nao is the oldest one.

Then again, Uzuki is the oldest one in New Generation.

In either group, Rin is the one who treat them like puppies, despite being the youngest one. XD

Damn, that's more affiliations than any other girl ever, isn't it?

You're mixing up both projects and units, and Rin has only been ever associated with two at a time. It's kind of like the original Idolmaster crew and Ryuugu Komachi, for example.

Also in the real world, what they did with Rin wouldn't be a good idea, as it'd be inevitable that she'd have to prioritize either one project or unit over the other, or else she'd burn out very VERY quickly.

It's kind of why units stick together for most of the performers' careers (see stuff like SPHERE), and only break up when the production company they're in goes bust, or one of the members retire. Also why it's rare of for real-world idols to be on more than one unit at a time.
