Mawaru Penguindrum

In the beginning of the episode, we see several pairs of shoes, all in almost perfect alignment. Later on in the episode, we see less pairs of shoes, but the pairs are placed out of alignment. I'm curious what that means.

I completely glossed over the fact that Kanba is a Natsume, as I thought Masako said "brother" in the sense that their parents were part of the same group, and that made them family. Interestingly, people flipped in the first episode where we thought there was incest going on between Kanba and Himari, but now it would seem the incest is in fact between Masako and Kanba.

Surely the Shipping Wars between Shoma/Ringo shippers and Shoma/Himari are now even more out of hand.

In a show like this, if incest is all we have to deal with I count myself fortunate.

For me the show's beyond the point where a little thing like incest would barely make me blink. It's been like, "Incest!" and then "Oh look not really siblings!" and then "Oh hey it's with the other brother now" and then "Nope, not really her brother either" and now "Oh so that's where the incest is oh I don't know anymore " and that probably wasn't a terribly coherent post.

Out of all the things that happened this episode, I think I'm most surprised by the revelations about Sanetoshi

Looks like the entire "Ringo is going to reenact Momoka's sacrifice" thing becomes more likely.

It looks like the shit is starting to hit the fan. And the disparate plot threads are starting to pull together, even if I can't see how it's all going to get tied up at all.

I'm pretty pleased how Himari's doctor came back, though. I thought he'd just disappeared conveniently into the plotstream, never to return.

Sanetoshi is a ghost, the Takakura parent are dead, as is Masako and Kanba's father, Kanba has KIGA killing people who inconvenience him, which extends to Tabuki and Yuri, the siblings have split up, and Himari and Masako have a secret pact to stop Kanba.

So many things is one episode.

Though that thing with the photo was kind of an unfair twist; when you have a character say 'hey! Look at this highly significant detail in a picture you've seen multiple times in the past!', you're completely cheating if the relevant detail wasn't even there until it was pointed out.

Of course, I don't think that blatant cheating was ever intended to be anything but that.

Otherwise, MY FUCK IS SO FULL OF MIND!

Maybe that particular version of the photo came from another reality along with the doctor and ow I didn't get enough sleep for this my brain.

A thought, as I'm falling asleep. Could Shouma end up going to the Child Broiler? His parents are gone, his siblings have left. He may view himself now as an unwanted child.

Might be, but if there's a point where he's going feel nothing he does will ever amount to anything so he may as well become "invisible" this is the time.

Is it odd that Ringo now seems like one of the more stable characters in this show anymore?

I wasn't expecting Tabuki and Yuri to get killed off, but hopefully that is addressed soon. As for the Takakura parents being Dead All Along, that means that Kanba was hallucinating every time we see him at the café, which goes to show that Kanba is easily one of the messed up characters on this show.

I suspect it may overdramatizing it to call it hallucination. It's more like we're seeing what Kanba wants to see, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm seeing a lot of predictions that the had Ringo mostly get past her issues in the first half of the series, so she is now in a position to help Shouma (and his siblings) get past his now.

...Don't we have to consider the possibility that those really are the Takakura parents' ghosts he's talking to? Sanetoshi did mention something about his former comrades passing his will down to their children, after all.
