You know, you can just edit posts?

Not to say that the bumps aren't sometimes needed, but maybe just bump if its some groundbreaking news of some kind?

I'd like seeing a game about Al-Mualim's youth and life as an Assassin until the point he switched sides.

It'd be like Rogue except even mightier.

AC Victory to be revealed next Tuesday

Brass knuckles confirmed.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate might feature a female protagonist.

But, the 75%-25% split has me worried. I remember Batman: Arkham City said something similar about Catwoman who ended up being INCREDIBLY trivial to the entire experience and maybe a half hour to 45 mins worth of content to her character.

I'm worried that she exists only for the purposes of saying 'We have a female protagonist too!' and little else. I know I should be happy that Ubisoft is actually listening to the criticisms and changing, but I can't help but be cynical considering how many times I've been burned by them.

I'll be happy if at the least Evie isn't killed off for pathos. It's a very cliched route that I can easily see Ubisoft taking to create additional motivation for Jacob.

However, it'd be interesting if you play as Jacob for most of the game, and then he gets killed off for things to switch to his sister.

So I guess tomorrow we can actually start creating the trope page.

[up][up] It sounds like it's going to be more of a Michael/Franklin/Trevor situation than a John and Jack Marston one.

Which, of course, does not preclude Jacob from dying during the story mode and leaving you with Evie to run around in the post-game, similar to how you were playing as a completely different Animus user in the post-game of III. Though flipped to be within the Animus, obviously.

This just goes to show that if you shame and humiliate and embarass Ubisoft they will try and think out of the box.

And these "leaks"...so obvious and childish in trying to put out positive vibes before the launch. The lack of conviction, the fussiness its really quite adorable.

I started the page. I might have had a problem customizing the wikiword, I think I forgot to add the colon, between Creed and Syndicate.

I don't think there actually is one anyway. Unity and Rogue don't have them either.

You know who'd be fun seeing? Adam Worth. Dubbed as "The Napoleon of Crime", and known as the most influential criminal mastermind of the 19th century. Some scholars (most notoriously Worth's most complete biography, The Napoleon of Crime) said that Worth's criminal empire is anaologous to the British Empire in terms of range, methodical effectiveness and unparalleld reach.

During the time period Syndicate starts in, Worth would be a small-time criminal. Could be fun glimpsing his ascencion.

The entirety of the marketing campaign seems like one big apology for Unity.

I will say that the idea of playing as a pair of siblings engaging in gang warfare in Victorian London is an interesting one for an Assassins Creed game. That being said, I'll wait until I see stuff closer to release before I decide if it's worth a buy or not.

Lord knows I'm not without Victorian Era games this year. Developers are on a kick for that time period.

I was a little wary after Unity, much as I did enjoy it (although I still need to finish it; leaving for a week in the middle of a game does wonders for your motivation to finish it), but the phrase "singleplayer only" made me instantly 80% more likely to get it day one.

I've gotten really tired of the last couple games bullshit social features. And even if those are still around, no multiplayer at least means no multiplayer trophies, which means a guaranteed platinum from me.

I would have preferred London during the Elizabethan Era - Walter Raleigh, Shakespeare, Marlowe, Bacon, John Dee and Sir Francis Drake (voiced by Nolan North because why not). AC used to be about doing eras no other game and franchise tackled. What a shame that is not true anymore

Victoria era is not Assassin-y. And you know crime in London wasn't as bad as we see in this game, they stole the aesthetic and style from Gangs of New York. Charles Dickens himself said that New York was way worse than London. And you know, it also looks too much like the Draper's Ward level in the DISHONORED DLC, lady gangsters, street-fights, derby wearing dudes. Really disappointed.

I'm hoping against hope that they cut the crap with the micro transactions and that the lack of multiplayer lets them focus on an excellent story campaign.

Interview: The Finer Points Of Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Highlights include:

  • The reason Victorian London was chosen was to hearken back to Assassin's Creed II since pretty much everything since the Ezio saga has taken place during a time of war.
  • The game's taking place at least mostly within 1868.
  • Rooks' members are more or less the new Assassin apprentices.
  • Unfortunately the modern day portion is going to be like Unity's.
  • Combat's like Unity's, but more dynamic.
  • Jacob and Evie get different skill trees.
  • Customization returns.

Modern Day will be like Unity's???

That's something people have been complaining about since Black Flag!

Fuck. That.

What Modern Day Unity portion? You flounce around a bit on an empty level. I didn't mind Black Flag's modern day section, even if it could've been way more engaging. It was hilarious how much Abstergo Entertainment was like any other big network/studio office I've been in. Aside from bunkers.

Uh, ok, this dude is kind of sexy (just keep the hood off). But maybe my standards plummeted after Arno L'Ennuyeux. So far Syndicate to me is Peaky Blinders meets Gangs Of New York...which isn't bad. It's not the AC:B cinematic trailer though, which had me shouting "fuck yeah!!!" at my screen.

Do we learn why the Assassins are so shit-up-a-creek they're basically street thugs? Or is this another Unity iteration of the character's assassin life having nothing to do with their personal life? I finally played Rogue, and besides being too short, it was so much more fun than Unity.

For those who don't know, Ennuyeux is the french word for boring.

I understood that reference.
