Not a very good one. They were clearly and unambiguously the badguys. Yes, Ahmet spewed the usual Not So Different speech and Papaidopolos gave the Make a Better World speech, but the game didn't really give the player an emotional stake in it.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Put it this way: the Big Bad of Revelations was neither a) screwing his daughter, b) screwing his siter, or c) screwing the Hero's LI.
I also thought that the Assassins and Templars spewed similar rhetoric about uniting the world.
It's not over. Not yet.Yeah, I'm with Fighteer. I didn't really give a fuck about their motivations, because they were still unambiguously bad. The guys in the first made a pretty decent case for their bad actions (at least some did), hurt now to heal better and so forth. Not so much in 2, B and R.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryYeah, the villains in Revelations were just as bad as those in 2 and Brotherhood, if less developed. What purpose did the decoy shit with Sophia serve?
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects."Fuck you, Ezio," that's why.
I didn't mind the villains. They weren't central to the story, they added a bit of grey into the mix (especially with some of the shit Ezio pulls), and when the next leader of the Ottoman Empire is going to be Selim, well...
It's not over. Not yet.But we know that Suleiman eventually succeeds to the Sultanate and ushers in an era of enlightenment. So that one turns out fairly well.
Anyway, I suppose that Ahmet figured that as soon as Ezio rescued Sofia, he'd be after the Keys, so he wanted to delay him as long as possible. That and he was probably pissed at Ezio for rejecting his Not So Different speech.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Cracked Article on US history.
what I've taken away from it so far:
Massive plague, possibly the biggest in the world, killed off 96% of the population before the settlers arrived. That's dropping the population (which was between 20 to 100 million) to between 800,000 to 4 million.
Their culture kicked the European culture's ass, as well as being more hygenic and hotter. "more amiable to behold, though dressed only in Adam's finery, than ... an English dandy in the newest fashion." Connor would give Ezio a run for his money, except for that britishness.
They had at least one pyramid.
And two native americans landed in Holland in 60 BC. Goddamn. O.o
This part stuck in my mind: "Documents from the time indicate that the design of the U.S. government was at least partially inspired by native tribal society."

Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryOh man.
Please tell me that Samuel Whittlemore is going to be in the game. Holy crap.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryMakes me wish there was a game where you could play as someone in pre-Columbian Exchange North America.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I can't imagine how anyone would manage the necessary research to make that even remotely authentic. Remember that Native American culture had no written records prior to the arrival of the colonists.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yes...I know that. A guy can dream, can't he?
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.welp, it's rather boring to read the google news on AC 3 right now. It's all about the gameplay trailer.
Or if they're really bad, the "secrets behind the scenes" of the gameplay trailer. Seriously, I felt talked down to by the "secrets" they revealed, and they didn't actually reveal anything that wasn't already revealed by previous articles.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryFor anyone who doesn't have this game, or is missing a title from the series, the entire collection is on sale on Steam today at 50-75% off.
$44.99 for every title and DLC.

Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryThe anticipation is killing me. Tobuscus is hosting a press conference with Ubisoft at E3, and I'm stuck here waiting for dribs of information to leak out via You Tube. Curse you, hype machine! I want a cinematic trailer that Toby will Literal! I want demo footage! GIMME!!!
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It's only two hours and nine minutes from now.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I have been completely out of touch with the gaming industry and only knew E3 was coming up because a friend posted on facebook about some party kicking off his second (third?) E3.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." Twitterchoob has evolved?!
I only remembered on Sunday that E3 was in June.
It's not over. Not yet.Wow, that presentation was incredible. I'm totally stoked for the game now. Well, more totally stoked, if that's possible.
