I have devised many characters, but I feel that this one has the most interesting potential if given a specific problem. I would appreciate a discussion on what type of scenario would this character fit.

Born in Athens Ambrose (Name after Immortality) Adrastos (Undaunted) (Greeks take the name of their father, hence, the character shall be known as) Adrastos Ambrose (undaunted Immortality) Occupation before immortality: Friend of Socrates, and Husband of the soon to be Pythia (Orcale of Dephi) Immortality: When he was traveling to say a final goodbye to his wife, he was struck down by a bolt of lightning that caused his whole body to forever be trapped in a state of immortality. His visual age will be 29 for all time, and any damages to his skin or organs will be healed within a day. If disfigured by any means, his face will regenerate into a new one of appearance. Occupations (From Importance): Soldier for almost every army from Ancient Greece into 19th century ( Usually for a term of 4 years) Mail Guard (Since Coaches were designed, he became a guard for royal mail carriages in Europe in the Middle ages) Highwayman (100 years from Middle ages before leaving for Americas in the 18th century) Musician for a small Inn at Boston for 20 years arriving at Americas Town watchman for the town where the Constitution was set in place. It would help to know more about the character. How does he feel about being "trapped" in an immortal body? Does he see it as a curse that needs lifting? Are there other immortal people or forces with whom he can interact? Does he have any goals? Does he bother to form relationships with mortals when he knows they'll eventually die, or is he a mystery to everyone? Is there any lesson he could learn in the course of a story, or some way he could change? What has he learned in all those centuries? What has he failed to learn? Would the story be told from his POV or from another?

Wandering Jew, but this time he's Greek. Does he have a mission or does he just wander around? Do you want Readers to like Ambrose or hate him? What literary tricks do you plan to give us the correct emotional reaction?

Ehh, why was he named Ambrose, you know, before he became immortal?

Also, Ambrose isn't how a Greek name would be, since they would not end that way. I'm not sure, but Ambrosios sounds like it'd be right. Not to mention that it means immortality only in a very technical way. Most people will think of the drink, but that's not your fault.

Your profile isn't parsing correctly. Bulletpoint it with asterisks, or put \\ at the end of every line.

And, yes, you're getting into Meaningful Name territory with Ambrose.

Something to remember about immortals is that they, well, don't age. Is he concerned with people getting suspicious about him staying perpetually young? A hundred years is an awfully long time for an immortal to stay in one place, especially since until the turn of the 20th century, people generally couldn't be expected to live past 70.

Also, make sure that that patronymic naming convention is accurate for Classical antiquity rather than modern Greece.

His social class, profession, level of education and literacy, religious beliefs, and reputation pre-immortality are going to factor a lot into his perception of his new situation. Especially, y'know, his personality. Tell us more about that.

Thank you for the responses, as I really do appreciate the support and critism ^^

To avoid suspicion, Adrastos Ambrosios (If that's wrong, just say so) shall always move to a new location every 20 years, and then will repeatedly circle around Europe as generations who saw and met him die off. (The story will be tolded through a Third person point of view)

His goals are to basically live and survive as a constant in history; he has seen the death of his own culture and many others, and has a fear of new ideas and cultures. To the point of fighting for a country that he hopes will become benifical.

He also has a interest in knowledge of higher powers, and will often keep a close eye on the politics in any country he is in. That is why he became a royal guard for mail carriages during the middle ages.

After seeing a sudden shift in change with the invention of cannons and the printing press, he became a mythical highwayman who took inspiration from Robin Hood: Take from the Rich and give to the Poor. He did this until the beginning of the 18th century, when the royalty of europe joined in a secret clan to rid themselves of him.

He fled to the American colonies where he took a small job in a Inn as a way to help alleviate suspicion of him in case the Royals followed him. he soon heard talk of independence, and saw this as a opportunity to finally be free of any royal mistreatment. He joined the patriots in their fight for freedom, and took away a sense of amazement at the ideas of how this culture might become the new Greece. He stayed in Washington D.C. and became a famous Horse breeder, where he aspired to finally settle down.

He then joined the civil war and fought for the south, seeing traces of Greece culture in it. during the battle of Gettysburg, he was struck directly by cannon fire, and lost both of his legs for 24 hours. He was forced to take the pain of it all as he had to hide away in the forest, forced to suffer alone as he then saw the people of the South retreat.

He quickly ran away to the west, where he took a job as a train conductor until the year 1914. He saw the growing politcal troubles in Europe, and soon took to the trenches in europe as a Englishman, where he was battered, mutilated, gassed, stabbed, and almost blown to bits almost constantly.

His only fortune was that the royal society that was constantly hunting him was destroyed by the war. He soon travelled back to America, where he joined the fellow veterans in the horrors of Probition. He became a Gin Runner and became a alchoholic without a need to stop.

But during the Deppression he saw what was happening in Europe, and knew War will happen. He soon joined a war as a spy due to his language abilities and experience in World War I. He became undercover agent in france, with a lust for knowledge and drink.

But suddenly the Nazis captured him in 1943, and realized from the archives of previous governments (And the fact that he wouldn't die even from a bullet to the head) that he was Immortal. He was housed for two years in a German POW camp, where he was the test subject of brainwashing techniques, where his brain was put through endless amounts of torture.

After being freed, he ran away to Japan, where he thought he could be free to recover a sense of peace. But the scientists who expiremented on him in Germany were taken in by the US government, and they had the files on him from being experimented on.
