I second the pull. I have nothing constructive to say about replacements.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Thirding the pull, no suggestions right now.
Fourth, pulling. Pulled after vote.

Fight smart, not fair.<Mod Hat ON>
Clocking this thread. You've got three days to show some progress before lock-down for lack of action.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Is there a clean pic anywhere of Legolas surfing on his shield from The Return of the King?
My thought is a Before/After pic, but I'm not sure what example to go with. Maybe a screenshot of the Super Mario Bros NES game compared with something from the film adaptation? I'unno.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
WAIT... first, what about the Sonic games vs. Sonic comic books of the Archie variety?
[EDITED IN: Such as, for example, juxtaposing this◊ image of a Sonic Heroes wallpaper with the cover of Archie Sonic issue 125, and finding a different page image for Archie Sonic?]

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartHmmmmm...possibly.
Do we want to pursue that or just lock this up?
Applying the lock for real this time.
I was uneasy about creating a thread for Adaptation Expansion because I think it's a trope that's really hard to capture in a picture and I really haven't got anything better to provide.
That said, it is JAFAAC. Basically, it requires you to have a good knowledge of The Cat in the Hat and probably even knowledge of the movie too. I don't know about you, but I've read the book and I just can't remember what happened in it. It doesn't seem too far fetched for a cat to have a car in a Dr Seuss book.
As far as I can see there would be only two ways to be able to picture this trope. Either there's some nice pithy one-shot webcomic out there about it that someone can remember or it requires two pictures.
As to what those pictures could be, well a better JAFAAC would at least be 1a◊ combined with some shot of Megaman gameplay 1b◊ because at least the basic visuals of the latter suggest it probably doesn't support quite such a huge cast.
Or maybe the Katawa Shoujo thing would make for an okay pair of pictures? It's an impressive expansion.
But I was think video game adaptations would be the best place to look. Most video games of movies adapt small three second scenes into whole hour long levels. Or the other way round, say something from the Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat films.
