Anyway I downloaded the trial based on your review(and the fact the game seemed right up my alley).

Played the trial got to the end and had to buy it.

The difficulty got me. I lost the first real fight over six times before i realized I could just sneak away.

This game is great. I'm having trouble with my current level but for fifteen dollars it is money well spent, if just for the hour or so before I got stuck.

Edit: love the stamina while climbing. Sucks hard gameplay wise but it is sort of realistic. It makes for some tense moments.

@Barkey: you realized you're replying to a 4 month old message right? Still shame on setting change though...

Anyway, sucks to be PC gamer...Last of Us is PS 3 only (fuck it Naughty Fog) and this might not see life on PC...looks like best bet on OC to play survival game is either Unreal World it Cataclysm...both which are roguelikes...

I replied because the game just came out and nobody had said anything, figured I'd talk about my experience in the game.

I'm kind of pissed off with it and put it down for now. It's extremely linear for a game about surviving at all costs.

And I had a mission early in the game where I had to find an untouched aid crate on top of a skyscraper so I could get anti-biotics for a little girl. I found the medicine and a grappling hook. This crate had supposedly never been opened. WHERE THE FUCK IS MY WATER AND FOOD! I EXPECT AT LEAST A 6 PACK OF WATER BOTTLES GOD DAMNIT! Fucking FEMA. Spend all that time getting up there, and that's the only shit I could get?

I bought this game about a week ago. I'm nearly halfway through it, but i couldn't play it much through the week, so don't take that as an indication of length. Another point- IGN gave this a 4.5. The review has no idea what the fuck he's talking about. The graphics look fine, the controls are fine, and the gameplay is good. I will say, once you get the bow a little over a third of the way into the game, gameplay changes quite a bit. Now, you don't have to use a bullet to take someone down, and mobs of 2-3 guys cease to be a threat, since you can keep picking up your arrow. So far it gets an 8 from me.
