You're kind of funny, actually.

Came up with a story for my King Arthur fic (It's told similarly to Arthurian legend: different cycles telling about different tales). Basically, a quartet of knights arrive in Ebellon with a huge army and start rampaging around the country, heading for the capital. Essentially, they're based on Darksiders! Four Horsemen. Except that they're all male and Strife doesn't have guns.

It's the technical term for self-demonstrating stupidity caused by lack of sleep.

I was completely baffled as to how to continue my Derpy fic. I knew what scenes had to happen next, but just couldn't make the words come. Just now I realized what these scenes needed: a change in perspective. Up to this point, Derpy's been the only viewpoint character—but by changing these scenes into an interlude chapter and switching to different viewpoint characters for each scene, I'm able to convey the same information without Derpy being present herself (which just makes more sense from in-story logic). And now, the words are flowing.

Jteeth: I gave chapter 6 another read and left a few comments on the doc itself.

I also want to say here that I really like how the confession scene plays out. Twi's rambling felt very in-character, and had a very good mix of awkward and endearing. And AJ's response put into words something that she had demonstrated through actions in the previous chapters: that she cares deeply about Twi as a friend. Also, having been in Twi's position myself, I appreciate that AJ's being so levelheaded and honest about this.

So was the crush... crushed?

@Meta: Thanks for looking at it. I'm glad to know that for the most part it's working.

@Handle: I wouldn't say that it's crushed, but Twilight definitely didn't get the answer she was hoping for.

Wouldn't be much of a shipfic if it were out-and-out crushed now, would it?

EDIT: I'm thinking of uploading the first three chapters of Alarm Clock to fimfiction. If anyone else wants to look them over before then, I'd appreciate it.

Also, the main thing that was crushed was Twilight's hope for closure on the issue.

Well, she caught Ajack by surprise, and no matter how you look at it, Twilight has just left her in a very uncertain situation. At least she seems to understand that.

My final chapter to Make a Wish is coming along nicely. Looks like it's probably going to be the longest chapter in the story by far, which is fitting. I just hope everything works out.

One of these days I'm going to write a shipfic where I spend 30k words building everything up, and then everyone is SHATTERED INTO PIECES afterwards. They burst into a rain of skittles.

Hey! Now I have an idea for chapter 4!

I have to admit, I've been extremely tempted to write something that looks like a standard shipfic, but ends with the pairing breaking it off, deciding that it wasn't working out. Although I don't think it's worth the trouble just to get flamed off the face of the internet for trolling the most rabid part of the fanbase.

Sess: And then "I could eat you all up" had a different meaning.

Teeth: Didn't Pannic already kind of get away with that?

Isn't that exactly what would make it worth it?

... Bronies are not supposed to be rabid. It's sort of the whole point.

Oh, sorry, what are bronies "supposed" to be like then? Are the rules of being a brony written down somewhere?
