It's not just about fantastic species. It's sort of the inversion of Have I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today?. While the first is a constant Suspiciously Specific Denial, this is more like "Yes, we know you're a dwarf. You can stop talking about how much you like beer and mining now."

Wow- it must of either been edited since I last looked at it or I didn't read it well enough. Now I see what it's about/see that it reads pretty clearly.

I guess the trope is supposed to be something like "fantastic creatures bring up their species a lot", but it's not really clear at all.
And the examples aren't great either- for instance, there is a mention of Tyrion Lannister of Game Of Thrones, who like the actor who plays him is a person with dwarfism, not a fantasy dwarf.
Jewish/ethnic comedians aren't a fantastic species either (Space Jews notwithstanding).
