According to this Siliconera article — http://www.siliconera.com/2011/06/20/itll-take-longer-than-30-seconds-but-europes-getting-half-minute-hero-2 — it looks like Half Minute Hero 2 will be officially localized by Rising Star Games, and released in the UK during October 2011.

As far as I recall, all PSP games are region free. So even if this game is not localized in your region, and even if you don't live in the UK, you should be able to import a UMD and get it to work on the first three models of the PSP.

I'm not sure how successful HMH was in the U.S. (I personally loved it), but I'm hoping that with the XBLA remake coming in a week or two, we'll get the sequel at some point, as well.

I hope you get tiny bits of eggshell in all your omelettes for the rest of your life!

I'm also not sure how many people bought Half Minute Hero on PSP. I got a UMD in the first week of release, but like most X Seed and PSP games, only a modest number of copies were distributed through Gamestop.

Siliconera posted a follow-up article in which Rising Star said they won't be publishing it. The actual publisher might actually be Namco Bandai. (Seems a bit odd, as that company has been very hesitant to publish anything cute or niche in English, from Tales Series games to The Idolmaster.)

Running in parallel to this release is the presence of the original Half Minute Hero in the Be Mine 12 Groupees bundle, alongside many other games. Pay $3.50 to get the game and others, and you'll also get 25% off the price of the sequel by virtue of owning the original on Steam.

Oh man, it's got a level editor and workshop support too! The game's pretty darn fine as well. I can see myself getting into this one.

Just finished Prelude. That was one heck of a way to kick off the story. I approve.

I think I noticed one of the Fab Four in one of my missions, and mission 11 was basically one giant Final Fantasy V reference.

Oh man, this game is so good. I love the added customization options, the permanent party members, and the Hero Castle.

The stronger story is, funnily enough, a bit mixed. I'm all for a good story, but Half-Minute Hero was initially really funny for its story being really basic. But ultimately, I think it's really good at doing what Half-Minute Hero does best anyway, so the story is mostly a plus.

The story gets a lot better later on. The first 2 chapters are like so serious in comparison with the first game that it seems out of place. It was probably supposed to be like a parody of all the moody protagonists from the PSX era, but I think they laid it on a bit too thick. Revolution and Ragnarok feel more like what HMH with a proper story is supposed to feel like.

That said, I kinda liked the serious plot in Prelude and Judgement. Had some pretty cool moments.

Though I agree, Yushia feels a lot more like one of the previous game's protagonists.

Well the DLC for this game is out, it adds additional quests to the Revolution and Ragnarok scenarios, which you can access by warping to a new location through the Goddess Statues. ... And I have to say, the Revolution DLC quests have to be the single most retarded things I have ever seen. Stay classy Japan, ugh. Those really made me uncomfortable. On the other hand, I feel like I'm missing something with the Ragnarok DLC quests. Is this a reference to something?

As for what I thought of this game, I thought it was decent enough. Good game, but nowhere near as good as the first one, that game was really charming, goofy, and it had a great finale. This game's finale falls flat, and the start of this game is way too serious for something like HMH.

I really liked this game. I love the additions to the battle system, and Revolution was a really cool scenario. Ragnarok was also kind of fun, though I really wanted to punch Yuja for much of it. Hero 3,000,000,000 was a pretty cool final scenario for Ragnarok, I felt.

Oh I like the Revolution and Ragnarok scenarios. They played a lot more like Half Minute Hero with an actual story. Yushia was funny, Yuja was even more hilarious. And some of the quest ideas in this game were pretty neat. HMH 2 in multiplayer is really hilarious, especially since there's an option to toggle on Mario Party mode. The Infinite Battle mode being remixed versions of HMH 1's maps. And then there's the map making stuff and all that, I just didn't like Overture, Judgement, and Destiny too much. They played all the RPG cliches way too straight for me there, and Overture was so wordy. It got better later, but ugh.

I kind of liked the Yusha part of the story as well. I understand that's not a very widely held opinion, but to each his own.

Just finished the game and really love it for the most part! Whereas the first game was a parody of NES RP Gs, namely Dragon Quest, the second game was a blend of SNES and PSX RP Gs. I also had more difficulty being attached to the Yusha story initially, but I was amused that he was a brooding hero like Squall (even resembles him in sprite) with a story like Cecil from FF 4, complete with a rival friend turned evil like Kain that looks just like Sephiroth. Except it's our protagonist that is the One-Winged Angel! Revolution was a pleasant mix of Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. I was also surprised that Ragnarok ended up being my favorite despite me initially put off by the protagonist's goatee and theme song! Even though I predicted what would happen in the end, the music still got me really emotional anyways and I can't stop listening! Although Destiny was kinda a tribute to Giant Space Flea from Nowhere I actually found the parody of the first part amusing, since the Goddess brings up Yusha's vengeance only for Yuja to question who to get revenge against, considering who was really responsible for what happened in the second half of Ragnarok...Cue her pulling on a trope found very often in modern media when you're out of other things to fight...

Also, I really love the music player in this that actually lets you play any song during gameplay. More games need to do this instead of relegating it to something only accessible in some menu.

What's great is that Yusha named the final enemy right at the end of the prologue story. And you would never guess that it was an actual enemy until the end.

Hero 3,000,000 (or whatever) at the end of Ragnarok was great. I loved Yuja's final charge. "I don't need these dumb weapons!"

Oh, and I kind of really liked that bonus dungoen. I got so much mileage out of the hero family in there.

Amusingly, the TV Tropes picture for You Can't Fight Fate is from Chrono Trigger, which this game is most thematically connected to.

I just beat the Demon Maze yesterday myself. The path to the Brave Vest is just wicked of them, haha! Quite nice that they have a hidden unique team special move when you have all four of them in the party. The other team move I found is Yusha/Guy/Yashu for the original Brave Commando team.

Speaking of the Hero family, I like it that they actually went and made the Fan-Preferred Couple from the first game canon, despite Sasha only being in one stage and a zombie! The Hero may be silent, but he's not celibate!
