Magical Secret Society.

So I'm deconstructing Harry Potter's wizarding world, so I want some critque on Saint Cyprian's society of magical people. The magic using commuinity is comprised of a large network of families who all have stuff like non human ancestry, exposure to magical energies or objects for generations, being Touched by Vorlons, ecetera. This grants them a form of immortality and each family has gifts and power unique to them, like the members of one family may have lightning generation, pyrokinises, flight and superhuman speed avalible to them. Also members of these families can devolop powers structured around their personalites.
