That's a continuation, not a reboot.
but HOW?Fair enough, also I found set pictures. Here they are http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=289265 I hope I don't get in trouble for this.
Eh, leaked photos are a time old tradition with Bionicle. The worst that can happen is that the photos'll be taken down.
Friends, it is once again time to listen to the Legend... of the BIONICLE.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI wonder what those translucent mask spider things are . Also who are those 'protectors'? Element lords?

Booyeah. Official confirmation. *throws a party*
but HOW?I wonder if the Mask of Creation's presense means that we will get an Artakha set?
Who says that's the mask of creation?
The description on an eight second video featuring the mask released by lego. Lego Facebook page (you may need to log in to see it) https://www.facebook.com/LEGOBionicle
Although I did like the Lego Bionicle toys, I can't say that I'd be glad about it being revived. The last set I ever bought (from around 2010) was quite lackluster.
To be fair Lego cancelled Bionicle so suddenly in 2010 that the origionally planned sets weren't able to be made and Lego wanted to transition to Hero Factory. Hence the Stars were released.
Yeah, the 2010 Stars line were bottom-tier toys, not even mainline sets. The sudden cancellation really did a number on Bionicle's ending. Hell, the Spherus Magna arc was literally cut in half—what was apparently intended for a three year arc was squashed into one and a half. It kind of showed.

They were gonna make sets for the ELEMENT LORDS
And Biomechanical Dinosaurs. 1 day to go!
It's official: Full on Continuity Reboot. No biggie considering the original Bionicle's love of A Us in later years.
Things I am disappointed by: that they appear to be radically changing the Toa's personalities; some for the better, some for the worse. Also, they seem to be combining mask powers with elemental powers. That is the biggest sticking point for me.
Otherwise, I like it. A fresh start, with new rules. I'm going to keep in my headcanon that this is an alternate universe to the main Matoran Universe, and that Vezon is gonna show up at some point.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI wonder how fan works will end up reconciling the original and now the reboot continuities? The crossovers will be awesome once we see more of the reboot.
I'd have loved if the reboot were a continuation, but I made my peace with Bionicle's cancellation years ago, so I'm purely excited for this. I love the Sauron vibes that reboot!Makuta—is that truly his name now, I wonder?—is giving off. The Mask of Ultimate Power is a bit of a trite name though... They should have just called it the Mask of Power, so we could have a pseudo-Triforce of Creation, Control, and Power.
Judging from the website, it looks like they're downplaying the title of Toa: it's only mentioned twice in the new biographies, and they're all referred to as Master of their element, rather than a Toa of that element. My guess is that with the folding together of mask and elemental powers, if we ever do see other Toa again, they'll be of different elements. So no Turaga revelation for the reboot.
Hm. For the most part, they took the original Mata personalities and added a bit of derp to them, but I'm just shaking my head at Pohatu. Ah, well, the story seems pretty interesting. I definitely wanna see where they take this.
but HOW?Maybe they hit their heads when they fell to Okotu?
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenHmmm... come to think of it, one of the old comics during the Rahkshi era implied that one of Kopaka's greatest fears was to be incompetent and have people laugh at him. So, new Kopaka being clumsy and adorable is literally old Kopaka's worst nightmare come true.
And now I wast to see a continuity crossover that has new Kopaka trying to prove himself as a hero and worthy successor to Old!Kopaka, who is fuming with silent embarrassment and trying to figure out the most dignified way to run away and never be found.
Meanwhile, the Onuas are engaged in a deep but slow philosophical debate, punctuated by long periods of silence and frequent nap breaks.
Lewa, meanwhile, is delighted that the great beings have opted not to mess with perfection, and that his new self is every bit as awesome as he always was. The two immediately run off to save the jungle together. Ten minutes later, one's wearing a Krana, the other's infected, and they're busy trying to kill each other.
3DS Friend Code: 0018-0767-4231That would be the greatest thing. Someone write that up.
but HOW?Ah Lewa always the Butt Monkey.
Judging by all the image macros I'm seeing, Bad Joke Gali is becoming a meme. Somebody put that on the reboot page, I'm bad at the edity thing. :P
(For that matter, the fandom seems to be having fun with the new personality quirks in general, but Bad Joke Gali stands out the most to me. Also, I wonder if Lewa being the resident damsel in distress is a meme too, considering it's already a running gag in canon.)

but HOW?Phew, looks like they're just going to underuse the "complex" terms like Kanohi, Toa, etc. instead of completely abandoning them. Thank Mata Nui...
Oh and they're also simplifying the story and possibly abandoning the story building year after year-So, isn't it cool they're incorporating gear functions WITH extended poseability?
My theory is that if this is a reboot then Vezon is the one who rebooted reality. Since he has the mask of dimensional gates merged with his face he will get the mask of time merged with it and due to his insanity reboots reality SBR style.
