Started reading the Light Novels, it's really good so far.

Went ahead and read the manga.

Definetely. I dont like how the kings aside from scarlet rain are the actual color. Like for example a violet level 9 should be purple king since violet is a varitey of purple. but that is a small issue.

I don't follow. It makes sense that pure colours would bring them benefits that would bring them to power over players with imperfect colours. And as the scarlet one shows, imperfect colours being a king is entirely possible if done to replace one of the current level 9s.

But in real games that is not the case. Versatility is really good. It's just I'd like to see some variety.

Last I checked, all the good players in most MMOs over-focus on one or two stats, as well as a handful of the available skills. What this series is doing is just the logical extreme.

How are colors picked? Out of the admin's hat? I dont think it'll matter if you're pure color or not. If the environments are ever changing in Accel World, you want to be weak to one environment.

I believe it was stated that everything about your avatar is decided based on your own fears and shortcomings.

Also, the colours decide, uhh, what your avatar's strengths and weaknesses are. The pure colours, therefore, mean that they're the best at whatever that colour represents. Pay more attention.

I thought it was just the second part of the name that had to do with the dream. Haru's avatar is weak to physical damage, tough against poison, etc. It's hard to link em.

I'm fairly sure they said everything was decided by it, not just the name. Otherwise, Silver Crow would just be a name, would be short and fat like Haruyuki himself, and wouldn't actually have wings.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that the rest of the avatar wouldn't be designed to match the dream if it's just half of the name that was influenced like you're saying.

I think you have it backwards: the stats/skills decide the color, not the color deciding the stats/skills.

Look at Ash Roller. He almost certainly wanted to "ride" out of/away from his nightmare. That is why he was given a bike. Because of the power of that bike, he had basically no "points" left over for his base stats. No base stats means he didn't get a "color" and ended up being "ash."

Silver Crow: All stats went into his flying ability. For that to work, he had to have a body light and strong enough to fly. Thus he became silver: a light metal.

Pale roller? Is that from the LN or another adaption? You mean ash roller right?

...I have no idea how "pale rider" got stuck in my head. My point still stands.

Anyway, your passive attributes are defined by color and not the stats. I don't think there are stats in that game.

Example: Silver is resistant to poison, but definitely weak against CQC and melee attacks.

The Second part of your name spells your special Ability. Ash Roller has her Wheels, Cyan Pile has a piledriver on his arm, Silver Crow has wings.

In other areas of the fandom... It looks like the anime is doing quite well with setting up the second arc. Everyone seems to be noticing the inconsistency of how much time was spent on the childhood friends and his reaction to the basket. Exhibit A

They haven't realized that their friendship is actually plot material. As for the bento, it's just there to emphasize the deteriorating relationship between them fixed by a fight between Cyan Pile and Silver Crow

I was just rereading the fight between Pile and Crow. Haru says armor should be resistance to pierce when Taku shot his arm off. I thought it was weak to melee?

Also, I heard the manga so far has covered only one volume and some of volume 2. Will the anime have a gecko ending? It's 28 episodes right?

Dude, you realize the original content here is 10 Light Novels, right? Chances are less than half of it will be covered in the anime, but that doesn't necessarily mean a Gecko Ending. That said, none of us can check if there's anywhere good to stop, since fan translations haven't gone far enough.

And we have 24 episodes.

What's wrong with Gecko Endings? It worked for the original Negima! anime...

It's a good thing you put that YMMV tag. If the Negima anime hadn't had that Gecko Ending, its sales numbers would have guaranteed a second season that actually followed the manga.

(It's among one of the higher selling anime since 2000, if you're not aware)
